Today as I was backing up my phone into the “cloud” I immediately saw a vast company in Heaven watching over every detail of lives and heard the words,
“The great cloud of witnesses has your back!”
Hebrews 12:1 says,
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us…”
You can run the race without fear or trepidation. You are not alone and you have a vast company backing you up as you go forth. There is no detail overlooked, no desire forgotten, and no wisdom withheld. This great cloud of witnesses has gone before you and handed the baton off to those who are currently running the race on earth; they bear witness to the life and faith in which we run now. They cheer us on with great joy!
You have all of Heaven’s support, backing, and resources to do all that He has asked you to do. You also have been given great examples in those who have gone before, teaching us how to be free from the entanglements of sin and EVERYTHING that hinders us.
Do not be hindered by your human weakness but be strengthened by the encouragement of the Word: the stories of weak men and women who God used to accomplish miracles as they yielded to His truth and ways. Hebrews 11 is filled with stories of imperfect people who obeyed and believed and thus changed history.
You have a great backup in the cloud! Every important detail is stored there to get you where you need to be. The lives of those who have gone before us are blueprints of how to walk in victory.
Run! You have the full backing of Heaven!
