This world offers many opportunities to be afraid. Whether it’s financial demands, health challenges, relational conflicts, or unexpected losses; fear jumps at every opportunity!
For the believer, there is a continual invitation to come out of fear and into a place takes us beyond our fears and into supernatural peace.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
The world offers temporary or momentary peace based on circumstances, but God offers us a peace that is founded in His never-changing faithfulness. It is a peace that comes to those who have placed their lives, their trust, and their security in the One who will never leave and never forsake them. It is not dependent on circumstances because even in death His faithfulness remains sure.
God is inviting you to come out of the grip of fear and into the grip of grace. He is your refuge and help, your hiding place in the day of trouble.
“You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.” Psalm 32:7
God sings over you “songs of deliverance.” His words and songs release the power to set you free from fear and the enemy’s plans to bring you harm. You can hide yourself in the cleft of the Rock (Exodus 33:22) and enjoy the peace that surpasses your understanding and surpasses circumstances that provoke fear.
Your soul is safe when it is hidden in Christ. As you place all of your thoughts and emotions into the trustworthy arms of Jesus there is peace that carries you through the storms of life and a Voice that speaks to the winds and waves,
“Peace Be still.”
Yesterday a friend was talking to a group of leaders and made this statement regarding the gift that God placed in us called, “emotions”. He said,
“Emotions are a wonderful tool but a terrible master.”
Anything that is “master” over your life, other than Christ, will become destructive. Emotions are such a beautiful gift from the Lord. They cause you to feel joy, compassion, and love. They also cause you to feel pain and anger. But those emotions do not have to be a master over your life (your soul) or they will steal the place of peace.
“For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.” Psalm 27:5
Bring all of “you” into the tabernacle of Christ. Bring your joy and your pain, your dreams and your fears, your victories and your defeats…bring it all and He will lift you up upon the unshakable Rock. He will sing over you songs of deliverance. He will heal your soul wounds and mend your brokenness. He will grant you access to the bounty of heaven and provide all that you lack. He will replace fear with peace and give you joy for your sorrows.
The Bible says the words, “Fear not” 365 times. That is one time for every day of the year. His mercies are new every morning, therefore you have no reason to fear.
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
Do not be afraid!
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
