For the past couple of days the verse from Luke 12:32 has been
“So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.”
This verse follows the words of Jesus where He tells us why we are not to worry; about tomorrow or our needs. He delights to give us far more than our earthly needs…He receives great joy to give us His Kingdom. All that is His has become ours through Christ Jesus. It is the “more than you can ask or imagine” that we long for. It is already ours!
One of the many lessons that I have learned over the years of walking with God is that we not only need to trust in Him for our every need but we must trust His timing as well. God does not move within man’s timetable or within the confines of what makes sense to us. He is God and His ways our higher than our ways. We make our needs known to Him (although He knows what we need before we ever ask) and we leave it there.
“But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.”
Luke 12:31
To seek is to attempt to find, obtain or achieve something. In this case it is His Kingdom…the Kingdom that brings Him pleasure to give to us. In doing this all of our earthly needs are satisfied and we are storing up riches in Heaven that can never be stolen or wear out.
Today, Jesus wants you to once again hear the words that he spoke 2000 years ago and still speaks today,
“So don’t be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom.”
We are His little flock; the sheep of His pasture. He protects His flock, He leads us to green pastures and He is our good Shepherd. Sheep do not have to worry, they merely feed on the goodness of the fields that their shepherd leads them to.
Begin to seek out His Kingdom above all else. Take all the energy given to worrying about the things of this world and turn your eyes upon Jesus and obtain the Kingdom that He has given you. Watch His Kingdom come and His will is done for you as you refocus your eyes on Heavenly things.
Do not be afraid…He delights in you and it brings the Father great joy to bless you beyond your wildest dreams.
“His Kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
