Over the past couple of months the Lord has been showing me a spiritual chessboard. It is a demonic chessboard and all of the enemy’s pieces are black. The white pieces on this board are God’s people who have been tricked into (or trapped into) being a part of his game. Every time one of the white pieces made what they thought to be a strategic move, the enemy would change the rules and the ways that his pieces could move, causing the “white piece” (the believer) to be trapped in checkmate over and over again. No matter the move, even when a move put the enemy’s piece in jeopardy, he would change the rules and how his pieces could move.
Each time that I have seen this chessboard and the cheating hand of the enemy controlling it, I’d hear the Lord say, “Tell My people to stop playing on the enemy’s board and being no controlled by his rules.” I did not feel the release to share this until today.
Sometimes God’s people get tricked or trapped into battling upon a field that is not the field where God has called them. This can happen through an open door of offense, unforgiveness, jealousy, envy, a sense of justice that is attached to a fleshly reaction, moving out of human wisdom (understanding), or a defensive reaction due to insecurity. Bottom line, the entrance point to this chessboard—this demonic battlefield—was through a “gateway of the soul.”
If this is you, there is no condemnation, but there is an escape that God has provided through the gateway of your spirit to where His Spirit dwells. There is the doorway of mercy and grace. I saw a picture of His people upon this chessboard calling upon the name of Jesus and pleading the blood of Jesus over their lives (as if they were raising a red flag), and then angels rushing in to carry them to the escape door. His name and His blood turned the white pieces on this chessboard red and it overcame the enemy.
“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.” Revelation 12:11
The blood of the Lamb will give the overcoming power needed to be set free from this game that cannot be won by soulish moves. As His name was declared, His redemptive blood was applied, and the song (testimony) of salvation was sung, it caused a holy surrender, not to the enemy but to the Spirit of God.
Allow His Spirit to show you the reactions in your soul that have allowed you to enter this place, and then repent and renounce them. This is a time where the Lord is rescuing His people from the trappings of the enemy and He is searching out every dark place that the enemy has hidden trap doors. It is the mercy of God that has been stirred to rescue many from places of compromise that have put them in harm’s way on fields that the enemy controls.
You have been given an escape door through the name above every name and the blood of the Lamb. Go through the gateway of the cross today to receive your freedom from this place of “checkmate.” God is calling checkmate upon the enemy!
