Yesterday I was praying for a group of young adults that we walk with and the Spirit of the Lord showed me a large whiteboard filled with words: words of accusation (some that were true and some that were false), words that recounted past failures and shortcomings, words that spoke wrong identity, and words that held them captive. Then Jesus came and washed the whiteboard clean until it was pure and white once again. What awaited them was a fresh start. If your are reading this then know that this is for you too!
The enemy mocks God’s people with relentless accusations and condemnation, but Jesus comes and washes away every word that has become a weapon formed against you. These weapons are formed to steal away your peace, your joy, your identity in Christ—and most of all, the intimacy with Him that transforms you. His relentless love removes every stain and pursues you with a constant longing to be one with you.
I have discovered that every word that comes from my precious Jesus draws me close to Him—even the words of correction that lead me to repentance—for they usher me into new freedoms. His words always break down my walls, revealing His love and true nature. His words wash me and at the same time wash over me like the ocean waves upon a beach that time and time again remove the day’s debris. His words awaken me to new life, new depths, as they draw me into that sacred place where deep calls unto deep. His words give me a fresh start morning by morning.
If the “whiteboard” of your mind is cluttered with accusations or reminders that weigh you down with guilt and condemnation, then invite Jesus to wash it all away. He is your fresh start and His words will set you free to truly live again. He will write upon the canvas of your life His truths and His story that He carefully planned for you before the world began.
Today is your fresh start…your new beginning. The waves of His love are washing all the debris away and you can now be overcome by His beauty and His glory, and go deeper into the intimacy that comes when all the clutter is removed.
“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:22-23
