Oceans in the Desert

Yesterday I was on a global prayer call with a team that I’ve walked with for almost twenty years. As we were sharing our hearts, one of the spiritual mama’s, Donna Ruth Jordan (a leader in YWAM international and a mom in many nations), shared that just hours before our call, she was awoken by the audible sound of a harp playing. As she woke up she knew that an angel with a harp was in her home. She lives in a place called, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada (remember that name!).

When she shared this something deep quickened in my spirit that this was not only a personal visitation for this faithful woman and widow but her home was the threshold (portal) for this angel “coming to Earth for such a time as this.”

The prayer call continued but my mind could not stop thinking about this angel with a harp.

Later, the same day, I hopped onto a FB Live being hosted by our friend Jason Hershey (of David’s Tent in Washington DC). He was announcing that for the first time in four and a half years the “song will go silent” and David’s Tent will begin a time of “perpetual silent prayer.” They will enter into a “Selah” season.

The absolutely amazing part of this FB live was when Jason began to tell the story of an experience he had with some elderly Franciscan women who have kept silent perpetual prayer going at a convent in La Crosse, Wisconsin since the Civil War. It is the longest prayer meeting ever. As he shared he told about a woman that he met at this Wisconsin convent that was playing the harp during the silent prayer time. She was in her 80’s and years prior they had found a harp in the convents basement that they had restored. She shared how she now plays it during the silent prayers. Then she told him how she also has a smaller harp that she takes into hospitals and plays over patients. As she has done this, patients in comas have miraculously woken up!

When Jason shared this I almost fell over! Immediately, the Spirit of the Lord said to me, “Kathi, the angel with the harp that woke Donna up has come to Earth to release the sound that will awaken the sleepers and heal those in spiritual comas. This is a healing harp that will heal the sick and set the captives free.”

Where did this angel with a harp arrive? In a place called, Medicine Hat! This angel has come at a time when the entire world is experiencing a global pandemic and is searching for a medicine to heal those infected. Many of its victims are in induced comas and many are in spiritual comas. I believe this angel has been sent to bring miraculous healing and to awaken the sleepers.

The woman that was awoken by this angel is a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother both physically and spiritually to people all throughout the world. She and her late husband, Peter, spent their lives bringing the generations together and bringing healing to nations. This is why the angel first came to her.

I have continually heard the words and felt such a deep conviction to “be still and know that He is God!” I will go to pray and no words come; just a deep contemplation of His faithfulness and sovereignty. The sound of silence is making room for the sound of heaven! The ceasing of our striving and of our sound is deafening to the enemy because it is the sound of “abiding trust!”

So now, we ask the Lord to send forth the angels with harps that heal and awaken those who have fallen asleep. We wait in silence for God alone!

“My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken. On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.” Psalm 62:5-7

It is time to be still! There are times to raise our voices and there are times when God wants to raise His voice and release the sound of Heaven to heal the earth and awaken the sleepers. There is a tremendous and resounding thunder that is released as our souls are silenced in a posture of abiding hope and trust. The silent trust is revealing the sons and daughters that all creation has longed for. It is louder than our noise!

Be still! Let’s release the sound of silence that rings a clarion bell of hope and abiding trust in the God that cannot be shaken. Let the harps of Heaven play, let creation intercede and let our stillness shake the darkness. It is time!
