Oceans in the Desert

On this first day of 2021 the word “Ascribe” has been resounding in my mind and my spirit like a bell tolling to announce God’s attributes. To ascribe means to attribute, impute or assign a quality or cause to something or someone.

The 96th Psalm ascribes certain qualities to Yahweh,

“Ascribe to the Lord, you families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to Yahweh the glory of His name; bring an offering and enter His courts. Worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth. Say among the nations: “The Lord reigns. The world is firmly established; it cannot be shaken. He judges the peoples fairly.”” Psalms‬ ‭96:7-10‬ ‭

As I read these words (declared these words), I could feel the weight of the authority we carry as His Ecclesia to ascribe to the Lord attributes that fill heaven to be made manifest on earth.

Therefore, we ASCRIBE to the Lord glory and strength! We ASCRIBE to Yahweh the glory of His name! We enter His courts with confidence that He alone has established the earth and His attributes will be upheld on earth as it is in heaven.

We ASCRIBE all dominion and sovereignty to Yahweh!

Today, join with me to ascribe righteousness, justice, mercy, truth, wisdom, faithfulness, deliverance and victory to the Lord! We ascribe authorship of all of these attributes to God alone. We come into His courts with thanksgiving and declarations that He will pour out these attributes over all His creation— for the earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it!

“Ascribe to Yahweh, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength. Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due His name; worship Yahweh in the splendor of His holiness.” Psalms‬ ‭29:1-2‬ ‭

Psalm 29 concludes with the words,

“In His temple all cry, “Glory! ” The Lord sat enthroned at the flood; the Lord sits enthroned, King forever. The Lord gives His people strength; the Lord blesses His people with peace.” Psalms‬ ‭29:9-11‬ ‭

He sits enthroned as King forever! He is enthroned over all the happenings on the earth today. We declare that He is enthroned over 2021 and all the activities on the earth in this time. He is enthroned over our lives. He is enthroned over all as we ascribe to Him all that belongs to Him and that He deserves! All authority, all dominion, all power and all glory are ascribed to Him alone.

Let us rejoice! He rules with righteousness and faithfulness— let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice! Let earth receive her King in 2021!
