God Is Listening…

By Kathi Pelton

Today I woke up to the voice of the Lord so clearing telling me that he sees me and he hears me. That may sound obvious but there are moments in life that the reminder of his nearness is like a cup of water to a thirsty soul.

Today was one of those moments.

The emphasis of his words had such a weight of comfort and importance that it not only captured my heart but it felt much deeper than “merely a reminder.”

Then the Spirit of the Lord took me to the words in Malachi 3:16,

“Then those who feared the LORD talked with each other, and the LORD listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the LORD and honored his name.”

He not only listened and heard those who honor his name but he recorded their words in a scroll of remembrance— a book of remembrance. That’s how deeply cherished your voice, your prayers, your dreams and your words are to him.

Our little granddaughter is fifteen months old and every day she is saying a new word. And she says them with such sweetness and innocence— and we find ourselves recording her words, her voice and her little conversations.

We never want her to forget how precious her words are to us and how precious she is to us.

This is how the Heavenly Father is with his children. Those who honor the name of his Son have his ear— and he records their words so that they are remembered for all eternity.

I just wanted to remind you today of how he is listening to you. He hears your words of faith, your songs of praise, your conversations that tell about his goodness and your deep desires.

He keeps a book of remembrance about you!

You are not only seen but you are heard. And you are cherished!
