We have all been through seasons of ease in moving forward and seasons where the opposition and resistance seems unrelenting. Many are experiencing the onslaught of resistance during this season.
Through the years I have learned that there is power given to whatever you turn your attention to. When my attention is turned towards the afflictions and resistance, then I will easily get caught in the chaos of the “wind” that it is creating around me, causing me to become anxious and fearful. But when I turn my attention and affections toward the One who holds my life within His hands with great care, suddenly worship and gratitude rises in me and lifts me above the fears of this life and the swirl of the chaos fear creates.
This is a choice that we all have to make. Will we allow the fears that accompany times of resistance to rob the Lord of the worship that He is deserving of, or will we cast aside everything that has come to steal our affections for Him and turn our heart’s focus to His goodness and unfailing love?
Just as the chaos that the enemy brings causes a “wind” of its own (disrupting everything around it) so worship creates a wind that refreshes and puts things back in order. Which wind will we engage with; the one that disrupts or the one that sets things in place?
The wind that the enemy sends is to provoke you to fear so that you will hold back the worship that exalts the victorious One. Satan fears the sound of worship more than any other sound. He hates the sound of the the name of Jesus being exalted, knowing that His Name is the power that resurrects all things from ashes and creates beauty. Praise enthrones Jesus over your life and over everything that attempts to exalt itself over the circumstances of your life.
It is time to choose to release your sacrifice of praise in the midst of the resistance and trials that stand like mountains looming in front of you. Use those mountains to climb higher and release the sound of your praise from a higher vantage point. Put resistance under your feet and release all that Jesus deserves.
There is a sound that has never lost its power; it was (and still remains) the sound of Perfect Love being nailed to the cross. It is the sound of absolute redemption, absolute victory, of a love that overcomes every curse and all resistance. When we worship Jesus it releases the sound of perfect love once again.
When the heart of Jesus ceased beating within His human body the silence was deafening to the enemy. It signaled, “It is finished!” The victory was forever secured and the sacrifice fully made. Your extravagant worship carries the sound of the cross and your resolute and unwavering trust has the sound of the completed work! It is the sound of the “absence of fear” which then releases the fear of the LORD over your life.
If there is a mountain of resistance standing before you, climb that mountain and release your praise! Enter into the peace that surpasses understanding as Jesus commands the “wind and waves” to be still over your life.
He is holy and He is worthy of ALL praise!
“Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that he saves. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! He is to be feared above all gods. The gods of other nations are mere idols, but the Lord made the heavens! Honor and majesty surround him; strength and joy fill his dwelling.
O nations of the world, recognize the Lord, recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong. Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his presence. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before him. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken. Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice! Tell all the nations, “The Lord reigns!” Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for he is coming to judge the earth. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.” 1 Chronicles 16:23-34
It is a “breakthrough time” that will take you from lack to abundance, from robbery to restoration, from ashes to beauty. Sow into your breakthrough wherever the Spirit leads you, but whatever you do be sure to give an offering of praise from your storehouse. He is worthy!!
