You Are Fully Known and Still Fully Loved

Kathi Pelton

As I awoke this morning I began hearing the words over and over in my mind and my spirit, “You are fully known and fully loved.”

There is nothing hidden from our God and yet as we stand before Him we can feel no shame; because we know that we are fully and completely loved. In our nakedness we stand before our Father clothed in the righteousness of His Son. As we become aware of the depths of our weakness we are then empowered by His strength. And as we admit our ignorance of knowing what to do or how to get there, we are given supernatural wisdom and understanding that makes us look brilliant. For it is in the place and posture of humble surrender that He exalts us.

We live in an upside down world that is in direct contrast to the Kingdom of God. In this world you are quickly judged based on physical appearance, worldly wisdom, possessions, talents, power and influence. Yet even within the people who possess these amazing traits they have one core and vital need, “To be known and to be loved.”

God looks upon what He has made in you and says, “It is good.” He knows who’s image you bear and the beauty that has been placed within you. When God asks you to let Him search your heart it is because you are known and you are loved. Because He honors you He is always searching out what might keep you from the fullness of His plans for you and His love for you. He’s a Father that desires the best for you not a detective seeking to expose you.

I love that I am fully known by Him. I love that there is nothing hidden and nothing too hard for Him. I love that every challenging place for me is an opportunity for His power to move within me. I love that every weak place within me has become the very place that I will see His power manifest. And I love that as I depend upon Him, He gives me wisdom that makes me look brilliant. Most of all…I love that I am fully loved by Him.

We are rich because we are fully known and fully loved. No earthly treasure can compare to this and it is the one thing that cannot be stolen. Some may be deceived into believing that if they are known by God that they will not be loved but it does not change that truth that says, “Nothing can separate us from the love of God.” Not even being known!

As I rest in this truth it stirs within me a deep hunger to know Him more fully. The revelation of who He is and the mysteries of His ways, His true nature and His Kingdom will always be a daily gift offered to us to unwrap. The more I know Him the more I know how greatly I am loved and how thoroughly I am known…and I am unashamed.

He is my goal and my prize. He is my true north and my first love. To know Him more each day is to love Him more everyday. The more that I embrace that I am fully known and still fully loved allows me to be restored to His original intent for my life. It takes me back to the garden where, like Adam and Eve, i can stand naked and yet feel no shame.

In our new book, The Yielding: A Lifestyle of Surrender, I share a story from a time many years ago when I use to go into the bathroom and close the door to hide from life, people and God. As a child I would hide behind a locked bathroom door to escape the rage of my father and the chaos within our home. In that place I did not let anyone in; even God. Many years later, on a particular day, the Lord asked me to leave the door open and let Him come in. An absolute miracle happened that day where I became aware that I was fully known and still fully loved. Allowing myself to be known, even in the weakest places, made a place that allowed me to be loved.

Today our beautiful Father wants you to know that you are fully known and fully loved by Him. He is inviting you into knowing Him more fully. As you accept His invitation you will fall even more in love with Him.

Oh what a Savior, oh what a friend…isn’t He wonderful!
