For a week now the the words found in Songs of Solomon 3 have been echoing through my spirit; awakening desire, longing and first love.
““I will rise now,” I said, “And go about the city; In the streets and in the squares I will seek the one I love.” I sought him, but I did not find him. The watchmen who go about the city found me; I said, “Have you seen the one I love?” Scarcely had I passed by them, When I found the one I love. I held him and would not let him go…” Song of Solomon 3:2-4
As we are physically “shut in” and asked not to go out into the streets and public squares— may our spirits go out into the streets like the Shulamite and search in desperation for the “One our hearts love.” May we go and seek Him until we find Him.
There is an awakening happening as we physically stop and spiritually run. It is an awakening to turn our full attention and affections toward Him. Not in the public square or in front of men but behind closed doors; in the secret place where “we will hold Him and not let Him go!”
There is a hunger stirring in His bride. It is a desperate hunger and thirst to find Him, hold Him and never let Him go.
During this time of a physical “shut it” let us run in the spirit— run in our desperation, in our longings and from our posture of being lovesick and find Him once again.
He is waiting…
