THIS IS OUR 20/20 CLEAR VISION MOMENT!

By Kathi Pelton

As I have been spending time with the Lord this morning I was shown a vision of this “quarantine time” but in it I was in an optometrist office receiving an eye exam and being fitted for lenses that would bring my vision back to 20/20.

Many prophetic voices prophesied words about 20/20 vision coming in 2020. I recently came across a post from a man who was mocking those words and saying that this pandemic has proven the prophetic voices wrong. Well, I don’t know about you but for me personally this has been a time of seeing the state of my body, soul and spirit with greater clarity then ever before! The Spirit has been searching my life and my heart and giving me 20/20 vision to see what was formerly blurred by all the busyness and clutter in my soul.

I have never seen the finished work of the cross as clearly as I do right now. The power of His blood is bringing forth a personal reformation that is washing away everything that has usurped the true source of life and liberty. Much of what I saw were “good things” but not what I needed— for they were blocking my view of Him. It was like looking upon the wardrobe of someone you love but not truly seeing the person or the owner of the garments. My life was like a closet, stuffed full of His garments and yet little room for Him!

For me, it’s been like a fog has lifted (a veil has torn) and I can see again. Now I can partner with Him and yield to the work of His Spirit within me to bring me into greater “oneness with Christ.” Isn’t that the last thing that Jesus prayed before going to the cross?

“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” John‬ ‭17:21‬ ‭

How can we be one with one another if we are not first and foremost “one with God?” How will the world know if we are not—“in Him?” The verse above says, “…And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.”

We have read these words thousands of times; prayed them, preached them and prophesied them! But until this time I do not know if we could “see” the way into oneness because we have been so divided in our own hearts and lives by the “things of Him” rather than Him alone. This “Selah” has stopped the speed of life that was blurring the very things we claim to hold dear.

If you are driving in a speeding vehicle everything that you pass by is blurred due to the speed you are moving at. But if you stop the vehicle and get out you can view your surroundings with clear focus and finally see the little details you missed at high speed. Often those details will include “the little foxes that spoil the vineyard.”

“Catch all the foxes, those little foxes, before they ruin the vineyard of love, for the grapevines are blossoming!” Song of Songs‬ ‭2:15‬

We are in a spiritual “early Spring.” The grapevines of our love are blossoming and this pause or Selah has stopped us so that we see clearly and can “catch the little foxes” that seek to ruin the vineyard. If you run after a fox it will run away and most likely outrun you; but if you stop and are very still you can trap that fox and remove it from the vineyard of your life.

It is also very difficult to nurture love on the run! You must stop and get face to face and heart to heart with the one you love. The seeds of love grow underground in the hidden place where “soil and seed” are joined. It takes stillness, time, patience and watering to yield the fruit within. The same is true with our relationship with God and with people. I love the convergences of ministries but I long for the oneness of hearts even more. But first I must nurture my love with Christ.

I believe that the “20/20 vision in 2020” prophetic words may be the most accurate words ever prophesied into a new year. Did we expect it to come in this way— NO! But isn’t that usually the case with the prophetic? We hear what He plans to do but we rarely know how He will do it. His ways are not our ways nor His thoughts our thoughts! And honestly, if we knew beforehand the details of “how” we’d probably try to orchestrate and control it and mess it up. What a wise Father we have!

One of the words the Lord spoke to me regarding 2020 was the word, “Jubilee.” A Jubilee Year is a time when all debts are forgiven. In the midst of what appears to be an unprecedented global economic crisis this word, “Jubilee” surely seems to be a major miss! Or is it?

For me personally, I feel like my soul is receiving an emotional and spiritual jubilee! The deeper revelation of the finished work of the cross that paid every debt is bringing me into a jubilee season like never before. I knew this truth before but it is becoming a deeper experiential reality that is not only catching the little foxes but it is causing me to become “one with Him.” I pray that this Jubilee will touch our economy as well but I am so overjoyed that it is first touching my soul and your soul.

So. YES— 2020 is a year of 20/20 vision. You must get still and allow our Great Optometrist, Jesus Christ, to examine you and give you new lenses. It’s time to see!
