This morning I felt the wind of the Spirit blowing and I asked the Lord, “What is this wind?”
His answer came almost immediately saying, “I am blowing away the darkness and blowing the breath of life into people and places that will carry My resurrection power.”
It is interesting that these words come right on the heels of the tragic suicides of well known men and women like Kate Spade (fashion designer) and Anthony Bourdain (celebrity chef).
Darkness is often a trap that leads people to death and destruction, but the Lord has come to give abundant life and to light up the places where darkness has held many captive. People who have been trapped in darkness will suddenly see a great light; they will feel the wind of His Spirit blowing away the darkness and resurrecting their life. Lands (cities, regions, nations) will also experience a wind that comes to blow away the darkness that the enemy has brought upon it and God will breathe resurrection life into His original intent upon the land.
The spirit of death that dwells in dark places is being uncovered and blown away. The enemy has been whispering lies of torment to bring people to a place of utter hopelessness and despair, leading to an agreement with death. But the Lord has been raising up those who will stand in the gap through deep intercession and “groanings too deep for words” as conduits of resurrection life and light into the dark places. The prophets are prophesying life, freedom, light, and reformation and the revivalists are going out and bringing deliverance into the byways and highways.
This is the time of a great shift…in lives and in nations. A shift from darkness to light, from death to life. It is a battle that is being won on our knees, through our voices and upon the feet that bring good news.
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.” Isaiah 61:1-2
There will be resurrection power unleashed to breathe life into what has been called dark and dead; these people and lands will carry life and carry light that becomes a portal of deliverance and refuge for many in the days to come. It is time to prophesy the words found in Ezekiel 37:9-14
Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they come to life.”‘” So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope has perished We are completely cut off.’ read more.
“Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel. “Then you will know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people. “I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have spoken and done it,” declares the LORD.’”
Prophesy, release your intercession, groan and watch the wind of His Spirit blow away the darkness. It is time and it is upon us!
