Oceans in the Desert

Today, August 1st, marks the first day of the final forty days of the Hebrew year 5778 (The Year of the Open Door). Many in the body of Christ around the world are entering into a forty-day fast (whatever the Lord shows them to fast) in order to “finish the year well.” This is a significant time where we are crossing the threshold of this open-door year that will usher us into spiritual renewal.

The number forty represents transition or change; the concept of renewal and a new beginning. It is also the number of days that it takes for an embryo to be formed in its mother’s womb, and the number of weeks of gestation before the birth. It represents purification of man and land, and purification from sin. Noah was in the ark forty days and nights while the earth was being “purified” by the rain and floods. It represents a new level of wisdom and maturity while being aligned with God’s statutes.

This year of 5778 has been what I would call a “Threshold Year.” To go through an open door you must cross over its threshold. A bride is always carried over the threshold into the bridal chambers by her bridegroom. This year has been a time to become fully dependent and yielded to our Bridegroom, Jesus. It is He who longs to carry His bride over the threshold into the chambers where oneness is sealed.

“Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord.” Songs 8:6

Jesus is jealous for His bride, and His love and longing to carry her and be one with her is fierce and strong. As we yield to His arms, we yield to the fire of His love being lit within us. It is the blue flame that is strong and steady and keeps first love burning.

These next forty days are days of yielding to being carried over into a divine reset and renewal; into the counsel of God that brings order and victory. Yielding to His jealous love for you will set His fire—His glory—aflame within you for the days ahead.

The upcoming Jewish new year is 5779 where we will come into the “counsel of God,” and His plans will override the plans of the enemy and the plans of those on earth who have aligned with demonic agendas. The Lord shares His plans and counsel with those who have fully yielded their lives to Him. It will be a year of “blueprints revealed” and a year of crushing the enemy’s strongholds.

As we enter the 8th month of 2018 the Lord highlighted Isaiah 8 to me. We read of a scroll where the Hebrew words “Maher-shalal-hash-baz” are written down upon it; meaning, “Hurry to the spoils!” or “He has made haste to the plunder!” I believe that we are entering a time where we will see the Lord plundering the enemy’s camp and giving the spoils to those who will steward the resources with purity and righteousness. They will not touch what the Lord says, “Do not touch” but they will take the plunder that belongs to the righteous. No longer will we walk in the fear of man but we will walk in the fear of the Lord alone.

“The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.” Isaiah‬ ‭8:13‬ ‭

The plans and strategies of the enemy will be nullified and the Lord will come in like a flood to raise up His glorious standard against him. Jesus will partner with His bride, who is one with Him and carries His zeal to see His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. His fierce and jealous love will judge that which is unholy in order to plunder what has been captured and held captive by demonic forces.

“Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted; propose your plan, but it will not stand, for God is with us.” Isaiah‬ ‭8:10‬ ‭

These next forty days are to prepare us to finish well and in oneness with our Bridegroom. Many of us began the year 5778 with a forty-day time of “yielding to the Lord” and we now will complete the last forty days with the fullness of being yielded so that we can be entrusted with the plans and with the plunder.

We have prayed like Solomon for wisdom and we are now finishing the preparation to receive new levels of wisdom. The purity that has come through His fire has consecrated us to walk in the authority of oneness with Christ.

He is inviting us into a time of fasting where we allow Him to carry us into the Hebrew new year 5779. (Rosh Hashana begins September 9th.) He will then bring us into the counsel chambers of heaven to receive the blueprints for the days ahead.
