Last night I went into prayer with so many things on my mind; our nation, our children, our hearts…I only knew that God wanted to bring His word and His perspective.
As I waited upon Him I was led to read 2 Kings 18 and 19. These chapters recount the time when King Hezekiah is being mocked and taunted by the Assyrian king who has captured every fortified city in Judah. He mocks King Hezekiah before the people of Jerusalem saying,
“This is what the king says: Do not let Hezekiah deceive you. He cannot deliver you from my hand. Do not let Hezekiah persuade you to trust in the Lord when he says, ‘The Lord will surely deliver us; this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.’” 2 Kings 18:29-30
Yet, as we know, Hezekiah goes before the Lord and prays these words,
““It is true, Lord, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste these nations and their lands. They have thrown their gods into the fire and destroyed them, for they were not gods but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands. Now, Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone, Lord, are God.”” 2 Kings 19:17-19
The lands that had been captured had put their trust in false gods fashioned by men. But Hezekiah trusted in the One True God who delivered him just as He had promised.
Last night as I went before the Lord to pray for all that I was carrying in my heart (my nation, the unborn, my children, the Church, etc.), Hezekiah’s words from 2 Kings 19:19 poured forth,
“Now, Lord our God, deliver us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone, Lord, are God.”” 2 Kings 19:19
We are facing many enemies and the enemy mocks our trust in God; taunting the words that we have heard through the prophets and in the secret place. But our trust is not in man-made gods or the ways of the world…it is in the Lord of All.
I hear Him saying these words,
“Just as in the days of Hezekiah, I will keep My word. I will defeat the enemy who has shouted lies and planted fear into the hearts of men. Continue to trust in Me and watch as I defeat your great enemies.”
This is a time of facing giants and of seeing victories as we put our trust in the Lord. This past November the Spirit of the Lord kept saying to me, “Things are not as they appear.” Though the enemy makes his threats, mocks your faith and plants fear into the atmosphere, remember who your trust is in and do not waver.
THE KINGDOMS OF THE EARTH WILL KNOW THAT HE ALONE IS GOD!
Declare these words over your life, over your family, over your nation and over the enemy that you are facing. Our trust is not in a god made with human hands but in the God who made those human hands. He will bring the victory.
