Today the Spirit began to speak to me out of Psalm 42 regarding those whose souls are cast down and whose trust have begun to doubt God’s promises and lose hope in His ability to save.
David was familiar with the kind of warfare that wears the soul down. In verses 5 & 6 he says,
“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God.”
David speaks from his spirit into his heart and soul; telling himself to put his trust in god and to praise Him again…because God is his Savior!
Many of you are in a time of great opposition and contention that has been sent to cause you to doubt, lose hope and stop praising. Just last week the Lord showed me in a dream that the attack against so many of God’s people right now is a direct attack against “putting their trust in God.”

Psalm 42 goes on to say these words,
““O God my rock,” I cry, “Why have you forgotten me? Why must I wander around in grief, oppressed by my enemies?” Their taunts break my bones. They scoff, “Where is this God of yours?”” Psalms 42:9-10
The enemy not only sent opposition and enemies against David but then he mocks him with deep oppression and accusations, saying, “Where is this God of yours?”
But David responds to who he knows God to be. His words paint a picture of a man standing up out of the stupor of oppression and hopelessness by saying,
“Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God!” Psalms 42:11
Many of us need to stand up in hope, trust and courage at this time. We must shake off the stupor of doubt and discouragement and “praise Him again”—for He will indeed save His chosen ones!
Even now the spirit of Joshua and Caleb is being released in our land. It is the spirit that says no to doubt, says no to hopeless despair and stands up against the giants. It says, “In God I trust!”
It releases the spirit of the overcomer and the spirit of bold courage in the midst of contradicting circumstances. It is the “holy yes” in the midst of a fiery furnace of adversity that says, “Bow to the god of this world and lose hope in God.” Instead we say, “I will not bow under the weighty pressures that so many are bowing under in this hour but I will arise and shout praise because I know that He who promised me is faithful.
“By faith Sarah herself also received the ability to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.” Hebrews 11:11
We can judge God according to our circumstances or we can judge (discern, consider) God according to who we know that He is in the midst of our circumstances! He is faithful and we must put our trust in Him alone and “praise Him yet again!”
May your spirit stand up in the midst of your soul being bowed down and praise Him! Put your full trust in Him and watch what He will do. This is a time to shout and to release a roar! The Lion of Judah is with you and you will overcome.
