Oceans in the Desert

Today is the 10th day of Nissan on the Hebrew calendar, which is the last Sabbath prior to Passover. Why is this significant? This is the day that during the captivity of the Israelites in Egypt God asked them to pick a spotless lamb (one without blemish) and to bring it into the house. This lamb would reside with the family over the next few days before “becoming the Passover lamb” who’s blood would be placed upon the doorposts of their home and cause the angel of death to pass by; sparing their first born sons.

There are a few points I’d like to highlight regarding this significant day where we remember the “lamb being brought into the house.”

First, during the time of captivity in Egypt the lamb was an Egyptian idol. Many of the Israelites had come under the belief system of Egypt during the 400 years of captivity and had adopted their idols as their own. Therefore, to use a lamb, especially a spotless lamb, for the sacrifice was to break the idolatry within the hearts of the Israelites prior to their deliverance from Egypt. It was also a statement where God is announcing to the “gods of Egypt” that He alone is God.

The lamb being brought into the house to “live among them” is such a beautiful prophetic picture of how Jesus, the spotless Lamb, would come and live among us prior to becoming the sacrifice that would cause eternal death to pass by us– offering us a way to eternal life and freedom from captivity.

The 10th of Nissan was when the lamb came to live with families. What a beautiful picture of the Lamb of God who came to restore His family. I am sure that the children of the home must have played with this little lamb and enjoyed the presence of this lamb during it’s few short days inside of the home. Even today, His presence is to be enjoyed and received by the young and old alike. Who doesn’t think that a lamb is so very precious? Earlier this year the Lord told me that very soon we would see infants “entertained by His presence.” I literally saw babies in the cribs giggling and being entertained by His playful and glorious presence being made manifest to them.

During this year, the Passover season is especially recognized. Never before has the entire Earth had a “plague” or pandemic that has caused the whole human population to be asked to go behind closed doors and stay with their families. I am praying and declaring that as this is occurring that suddenly families would see “the Spotless Lamb- Jesus our Savior” in their homes and they would receive Him. I am praying this for both the homes of the Believers and the homes of those who have not recognized that Jesus is the One who saves. He is their Passover Lamb.

I declare over every home and every family- “The Lamb is in the house!” Declare these words in your home and over your family. Let His presence fill your home and bring joy to your children. Yes, the very Lamb that came to dwell among us was sacrificed for our sins but He rose again and is alive forevermore. He once again is in our house to never again leave. He will never leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6, Hebrews 13:5).

The Lamb is in the house! The blood of Abel cried out, “Justice” but the Blood of Jesus cries out, “Mercy!” His blood speaks a better word! Mercy triumphs over judgement once again.
