On Saturday night I either had a dream or a spiritual encounter in the middle of the night where the church rose up to de-crown and dethrone the Corona virus which caused it to lose the authority to rule and spread.
In this dream/encounter two things happened; we removed the rule or crown of the virus and we decreed the One in Revelation 19:12 as King,
“His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself.” As we declared that Jesus is the One King with many crowns— the virus bowed down and began to shrivel up and die. As long as it wore this demonic crown to rule over the nations (which really is a demonic power/principality that has a self-appointed crown) it controlled people, nations, times and seasons over the earth; serving the plans of the enemy. But as the Church— the Ecclesia— took her place of authority to remove the crown, which removed its throne of rulership and restored all rule, all authority and all dominion over the nations to the One with many crowns— Jesus Christ, then the powers that used this virus to rule with were dethroned and decrowned.
A more appropriate name for this virus and the powers that rule over it is Absalom! It is a self-appointed crown that seeks to rule. But there is only One who sits on the throne to rule over the nations with justice, righteousness and mercy: the One with many crowns, Jesus!
This virus wears the “mask” of a king but it is an imposter that seeks to silence and mask the Ecclesia from releasing the sound of deliverance. It seeks rulership and power but we declare that all power and authority belongs to Christ Jesus alone! No other power but His! No other king but the Lion of Judah!
Let’s declare aloud that Jesus Christ, the one with blazing eyes of fire, the one with many crowns, the one whose robe is dipped in blood and whose title is Word of God and “Faithful and True”— is the only One we crown. He is the One true king that every king, every ruler, and all creation will bow before. All other crowns must be cast down and the crown of Corona is not only removed but is trampled under the feet of the armies of heaven.
His eyes of blazing fire are about to look down upon the armies of darkness and oppression to send them into confusion, chaos, and defeat.
Arise, King of Kings— now, may Your enemies be scattered and destroyed.

Last week I was listening to a pastor and very successful businessman who was talking about the key to his success. He said it is believing the “surelys” in the Bible! First he brought us to Hebrews 6:14 that says,
“Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.” Hebrews 6:14 NKJV
Then he brought us to the most known Psalm— Psalm 23, verse 6 where it says,
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…” Psalms 23:6
He said that every morning he begins His day by praying and decreeing the “surely” truths over his life. I am calling it “The Surely Effect”!
As he prayed these verses over his life he said that he saw the cartoon character from the Charlie Brown strip named, Pigpen. Pigpen had a cloud of dirt that followed him wherever he went— it went before him, behind him and beside him. The Lord showed him that the “surely” promises of blessings, multiplication, mercy and loving kindness would encircle his life in the same way that the dust cloud encircled Pigpen’s life.
Once again…it is what I’m calling the “Surely Effect.” Isn’t it time to walk in His promises? To agree with, align with and decree them as a promised truth over everything you do and everything you touch?
Surely means assurance and confidence which is the same meaning as HOPE in regards to our faith. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for! It is confident expectation and assurance that what God says it true. He cannot lie!
It’s time to align with the “Surely Effect”! This will renew your faith and become a truth that surrounds you like a cloud of favor and promise.
Yesterday I did a Facebook live that talked about shaking off disappointment and going back to the trust that says, “He who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 11:11). Far too often believers align with a false “surely” that tells a lie about our God. It says that surely you will be disappointed, surely you will lack, surely you will fail…and so on! But that is a lie that needs to be trampled like a snake under our feet. The truth is that for every believer, “Surely goodness and loving kindness, blessings and multiplication…and no lack” will follow you.
Every morning when I wake up my amazing husband brings me a latte while I’m still in bed and for the next hour I sit with Jesus— worship music awakens my soul, His presence becomes my sunrise and peace prepares my heart to “be still and know that He is God!”
My routine was changed a bit today when I answered a text and my eyes were drawn to a notification on my phone from a page called, “View from my window.” It’s a FB page that has almost 2M followers that is dedicated to this quarantine time. People from all across the world send in photos of the view from their windows at home. I began to look at the photos from people’s homes and was captured by the beauty of creation! I was so drawn into each unique setting— both the ones with profound views of mountain peaks as well as the ones with simple views of a swing set that their children play on. They spoke of such personal beauty and the stories of the lives that look out upon these scenes.
I began to be overcome by His love for each life and each family that these “window views” represented. He see such beauty in each one. Like an adoring Father, He sees the beauty that the rest of the world may just walk by and miss. He sees through the windows of their souls and knows each one so intimately— even if they’ve forgotten Him. Their beauty–and your beauty–takes His breath away! The view of you is His favorite thing to look upon! You ravish Him!
Here in Virginia we’ve been blessed with such a beautiful spring! Most days have been sunny and have provided breathtaking sunsets that keep this quarantine time kissed by beauty. But yesterday grey skies rolled in and I had one of those day where my whole focus had to be on “business” work— which always drains me. As I began to feel the depletion of joy (because I need daily visual and spiritual beauty), I heard the Spirit whisper to me, “Just stop for an hour and come see Me.”
I set my laptop aside, my phone aside and my work aside. Then I closed my eyes to “behold His beauty.” Time with Him is like a stroll through a garden of fragrant beauty— flowers, spices, light, color and intimacy.
“My lover has gone down to his garden, to his spice beds, to browse in the gardens and gather the lilies. I am my lover’s, and my lover is mine. He browses among the lilies.” Song of Songs 6:2-3
I want to encourage each of you to not get stuck in the mundane! Yes— here in quarantine there is still work to be done, children to be raised, meals to be prepared, messed to be cleaned and problems to be solved. But do not forsake time that is set aside to behold beauty; behold His beauty and behold the beauty that surrounds you. Search for Him and search for places that refresh and restore your soul. Go find a simple flower and gaze at it until you see His face appear in creation.
As a child, before I knew the Lord, I was growing up in one of the most beautiful settings in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. My family was often in chaos and turmoil but I remember that in the midst of an overwhelming atmosphere I would often walk outside and lay on our grass under the towering pine trees and just look up at the vibrant blue sky and breathe in the mountain air— it would reset me and enable me to go on. I didn’t realize that it was God who had set me in a “cathedral of His creation” that I could escape to and be restored. What a gift.
Today my family lives on what was once a Civil War battlefield in Virginia. Sometimes when I walk the battlefield trail I think about those that were there experiencing such despair in the midst of so much natural beauty. I wonder if at times they stopped and looked up at the very trees that I am gazing upon and found a moment of beauty that reminded them that there was something more?
I don’t know what you are facing in the midst of this time of a global crisis but whatever it is— be sure to stop and find beauty. I remind myself each day that the sun still rises and sets with all of its brilliance, the wind still blows through the tall grasses causing it to dance, the waves still crash upon the shores, the birds still sing the songs of creation and the colors still reveal the vibrancy of a beautiful Creator. Find His face, His beauty and His garden. Go taste and see— it is His banqueting table set before you; even in the midst of your enemies.
Beauty waits to have you come behold it.
Thank you to all of my readers who have prayed for us and supported us through financial gifts through this time! You are beautiful!
This morning Lana Vawser posted a word about a vision where she saw God’s people “throwing their 2020 calendars into the fire.” As I read these words I began to ponder why, for the first time in thirty years, I did not buy a wall calendar or daily planner for 2020? Was it because we were moving in January and I was just too busy? But, no…I always pick it out in December and my sweet husband gets it for me for Christmas. But I just didn’t feel to as we entered 2020. I felt like there was no way to plan what the Lord would do.
Proverbs 16:9 says, “The heart of man plans his ways, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
This verse has always filled me with such confidence in going forward into the future. It has filled me with hope and joy to know that even if I get “my plans” wrong that He will order and establish my steps as I live in a posture of surrender and of yielding to His will.
But suddenly even our steps are stopped! Plans are cancelled and a divine “moment in time” has been established. I asked the Lord, “What are Your steps for me in this time.” I was answered by a vision of my shoes coming off and my feet leaving the ground as my “knees were being established.” With that vision my heart bowed down in worship, in silent meditation, in prayer and in knowing that HE IS GOD. My knees have become my established posture and single step for 2020.
So many prophesied that 2020 would be a year of divine focus and clear vision and there has never been a more accurate word! As the planners have been set aside, the events stopped and the calendars reveal only blank boxes, suddenly the Bride has gone in to the chambers with her Bridegroom to rediscover first love. And it is within these closed doors of intimacy that He is sharing His mysteries with her; even His strategies and His plans. But first, He is awakening love!
Yesterday morning I looked at my husband and said, “What is that fragrance that you are wearing?” He looked at me a bit baffled and replied, “Deodorant. The same one I wear everyday.” But I was all the way across the room and a fragrance that was so refreshing, clean and awakening filled my senses. I lingered in it and knew that I must be smelling the fragrance of “love awakening.” There is a fragrance of “oneness” that is awakening His bride.
The doorway into His chambers are often found in that place where our shoes are removed and our feet cease to move– it’s the place where we enter in upon our knees. I saw “knees established” so that future steps will be aligned. There is no going back and we do not want to; this is a time to move forward from a personal awakening and reformation that sparks a global awakening and reformation. For me, it’s a time to lay it all down and yield. Yield to “oneness with Christ” which only happens in His chambers. Oneness doesn’t happen in crowds or in events, it happens in the chambers of our hearts and behind closed doors.
A new wine skin is being established that will hold the new wine that will be poured out. If God had poured out the new wine into the old wine skin it surely would have burst and been wasted. Be ever so careful to not hold onto the old ways, the former plans and as Lana spoke, “…to want to get back to what we were doing before this Selah.” We must receive the invitation into His chambers where we yield to Him in a oneness that comes only through intimacy and communion together. Oneness will hold the new wine. It is the true answer to Jesus’ prayer in John 17:21-23, “That they would be one even as we are one…”
Remove your shoes and allow your steps to cease and your knees to be established. There is a great awakening but it is happening first in the chambers of intimacy. It is there that He will establish oneness (He will set it as a seal upon your heart) and then He will share the mysteries and the secrets of His heart.
My beloved spoke and said to me, “Arise my darling, my beautiful one, come away with me.” Song of Solomon 2:10
Let your steps take you to your knees where you will arise and go with Him to the place that love is awakened and oneness is sealed.
Thank you to all those who have stood with us through this time with prayers and financialsupport. We are so very grateful to you!
Today is the 10th day of Nissan on the Hebrew calendar, which is the last Sabbath prior to Passover. Why is this significant? This is the day that during the captivity of the Israelites in Egypt God asked them to pick a spotless lamb (one without blemish) and to bring it into the house. This lamb would reside with the family over the next few days before “becoming the Passover lamb” who’s blood would be placed upon the doorposts of their home and cause the angel of death to pass by; sparing their first born sons.
There are a few points I’d like to highlight regarding this significant day where we remember the “lamb being brought into the house.”
First, during the time of captivity in Egypt the lamb was an Egyptian idol. Many of the Israelites had come under the belief system of Egypt during the 400 years of captivity and had adopted their idols as their own. Therefore, to use a lamb, especially a spotless lamb, for the sacrifice was to break the idolatry within the hearts of the Israelites prior to their deliverance from Egypt. It was also a statement where God is announcing to the “gods of Egypt” that He alone is God.
The lamb being brought into the house to “live among them” is such a beautiful prophetic picture of how Jesus, the spotless Lamb, would come and live among us prior to becoming the sacrifice that would cause eternal death to pass by us– offering us a way to eternal life and freedom from captivity.
The 10th of Nissan was when the lamb came to live with families. What a beautiful picture of the Lamb of God who came to restore His family. I am sure that the children of the home must have played with this little lamb and enjoyed the presence of this lamb during it’s few short days inside of the home. Even today, His presence is to be enjoyed and received by the young and old alike. Who doesn’t think that a lamb is so very precious? Earlier this year the Lord told me that very soon we would see infants “entertained by His presence.” I literally saw babies in the cribs giggling and being entertained by His playful and glorious presence being made manifest to them.
During this year, the Passover season is especially recognized. Never before has the entire Earth had a “plague” or pandemic that has caused the whole human population to be asked to go behind closed doors and stay with their families. I am praying and declaring that as this is occurring that suddenly families would see “the Spotless Lamb- Jesus our Savior” in their homes and they would receive Him. I am praying this for both the homes of the Believers and the homes of those who have not recognized that Jesus is the One who saves. He is their Passover Lamb.
I declare over every home and every family- “The Lamb is in the house!” Declare these words in your home and over your family. Let His presence fill your home and bring joy to your children. Yes, the very Lamb that came to dwell among us was sacrificed for our sins but He rose again and is alive forevermore. He once again is in our house to never again leave. He will never leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6, Hebrews 13:5).
The Lamb is in the house! The blood of Abel cried out, “Justice” but the Blood of Jesus cries out, “Mercy!” His blood speaks a better word! Mercy triumphs over judgement once again.

The entire world realizes the seriousness of this hour as COVID-19 has created a health and financial crisis. Along with this, God is causing a deep sobering and refining in the hearts of His people as we navigate this landscape, facing issues unprecedented in any of our lifetimes. I personally have never experienced such a soul-searching time.
Then, yesterday as my husband and I watched the final episode of an HBO mini-series about John Adams (second president of the United States), a scene that occurred just prior to his death struck my spirit at a profoundly deep level.
Adams’ entire life had been dedicated to the very hard and real struggle to see his new nation founded and unified; he truly made great sacrifices for this cause. In his old age, after many personal losses, he began to despair as he felt he had paid too great a price. But in this scene, he was a very old man and was taking a short walk with his son. Suddenly he stopped and bent over, looking like he might fall. But he wasn’t falling but rather coming to his senses. He began to describe to his son the time that he stood before the queen of England and was amazed by the opulence of her crown adorned with 2,800 diamonds—including a 105-carat diamond in the front—and the beautiful jewels around her neck and on her hands. Then, as he was still bent over, the camera focused on what he was viewing; a tiny wildflower. With tears and deep passion he said, “All of the diamonds and jewels do not even begin to compare to the beauty of this one tiny flower.”
He then began to weep and laugh at the same time. This ninety-year-old man started to dance, grabbed his son’s arms, and shouted, (quoting the Apostle Paul) “Rejoice evermore! Rejoice evermore!”
The simple, pure perspective of creation and its Creator restored his soul. The “weight of the world” suddenly lifted off him and allowed the end of his life to be filled with simple beauty and joys.
As I watched this scene, tears filled my eyes and the Lord began to go to a new depth in me; but this depth was one of being restored to the child-like wonder of His beauty and creation. It caught me off-guard, even though earlier that day my husband and I were talking about pleasures we’d abandoned because we have become so serious about “seeing His Kingdom established.”
I am not suggesting at all that the sacrifices that we and others have made to serve our God are wrong or in vain, but I suddenly heard Him ask me, “Why don’t you paint? Why did you stop drawing and creating?”
My only answer was, “Well, how is that going to advance Your Kingdom?” As the words came from my mouth I suddenly knew that these simple talents and passions bring His heart pleasure— after all, look at how His artistry in earth’s creation brings us such pleasure.
Then I saw in my mind different scenes of our young grandsons rejoicing as they spend their days running through the tall grass with abandoned joy, or snuggling a neighbor’s kitty, or laughing as they run through a sprinkler. The Lord said, “Is their time wasted?”
I didn’t need to answer Him. Of course I knew that their joy and wonder brings Him great pleasure.
As all this unfolded, something began to be resurrected in my heart. It was the value that God puts upon the “simple beauties.” The tiny spring flowers carpeting the fields, the cherry blossom petals swirling in air like a snowfall, the sunrise and sunsets that paint our sky, and the birds singing songs that could be interpreted in the same words that John Adams sang as he looked upon the tiny flower, “Rejoice. Rejoice evermore!”
There is a deep work happening that is purifying our hearts and decluttering our lives. And yet, there is a resurrection of true wonder, beauty, and joy occurring as well. Let’s not forget to take time to experience His beauty by listening to the song birds, or breathing the aroma of a field of wildflowers, or stopping to look at the beautiful sky with someone we love. Take time to pick up those passions that were left behind and labeled “futile” as we viewed a world caught in the grip of sin and darkness. There is balance restored in understanding that we can be still, knowing that He is God, and we are not! In stillness we will find awe, wonder, and beauty again— which will restore joy to our weary souls.
There are times that it is proper for us to be deeply serious, and yet there are just as many moments that we are to enter into the simple beauties that remain; revealing His love in ways that restore our soul.
That moment, at the end of John Adams’ life, should not have just been a final encounter, but instead could have been thousands of small blessings woven throughout his life, so that the weight of his enormous responsibilities wouldn’t have caused such heartache in his soul. Let’s find the joy that has been woven through the landscape of creation and sown into the fabric of our lives through simple joys—painting, sewing, writing, photography, dancing, singing.
This time of alignment is also a time of balancing perspectives. We are not God, but we take things upon ourselves that set us up as “saviors.” The title Savior belongs to One, and only One. He already bore the weight of the world upon His body and gave His all for every person ever created. There is a rest and joy as we enter into the finished work of the cross and let go of the weight of a misplaced savior complex.
Deep is calling unto deep, but let’s not misunderstand that His finished work is the deepest truth we will ever embrace. Rejoice! Rejoice— REJOICE! He has overcome the world. Go out and spend an hour looking at a flower, or sit with someone you love and watch the sunset from beginning to end. Let beauty lift the weight from you and wash your soul with a resurrection of joy.
Since this virus hit our world I began hearing the Lord inviting us to come and sit at His table.
Then, He took me into a vision that became an encounter. In this encounter it was Springtime, as I could see the cherry blossom petals blowing all around. I saw Jesus knocking on the heart of His Bride (the Church) and she opened the door but He could not come in; for it was too cluttered. It was crammed full (overflowing) with “spiritual things” yet nothing of true eternal value. Then our Bridegroom asked her if He could clean her heart and she said, “Yes, give me a clean heart.”
He then proceeded to pull EVERYTHING out. When it was completely cleared and empty of everything but His presence at work, He brought in a small table and set it in the middle of this room (heart). Then He places two chairs at this table. After setting the chairs down He placed a loaf of bread and a glass of wine on the table and He sat down. He then spoke and said,
As the bride sat down at this table of intimacy and began to partake of Him the glory of the Lord filled the room. She fell on her face at His feet and began to pour herself over His feet.
“Come My Bride, come eat of Me and drink of Me— let us dine together on all that you need.”
– Let us say “yes” to Him; come clean our hearts, set up His table and partake of His body and blood. May His glory fill the temple and power from on high come upon us as we pour ourselves out over His feet. –
Prayerfully consider standing with us during this time where ministries have had to stop all travel and gatherings by giving a financial gift. To give go to: https://www.inscribeministries.com/
Thank you so very much and we pray abundant blessings upon you and your family and multiplied return upon your sacrificial gift.
For days now, all I can say are these words, “We are being taken back to the blood of Jesus and the finished work of the cross!”
That sums up the “prophetic word for this hour” that we are in! Jesus Christ and Him crucified for the sins of the world.
Repentance is falling upon the church and it is setting us free! Why? Because it is immediately met by the blood that cleanses us and the broken body that heals us. This is the message that we must carry into the days ahead. We will see that there is POWER IN THE BLOOD—wonder working power.
We have come up with so many formulated prayers; curse breaking prayers, blood line prayers, healing prayers, deliverance prayers and “repeat after me” prayers but I believe we are going to see much of those types of prayers fall away because when the power is about to come on and it will flow from the message of the blood of Jesus and the finished work of the cross only. Manifest power will flow like never before! This simple and true message can be carried and spoken by all His people.
As we are shut in, we are like the disciples in the upper room after Jesus ascended. We are waiting for “power from on high to fill us.” The Spirit of God lives in us already but I had a vision the other day of Jesus knocking on the door of our hearts and when we opened the door our hearts were so crowded with other “spiritual things” that there was no room for Him to come in and dine with us. Then a spiritual spring cleaning occurred and it removed all that was crowding our hearts till it looked like a clean and empty room. Then Jesus set up a table in the middle of this room and put the communion elements (the bread and wine) on the table. He declared, “It is finished.” Then He sat down at the table and invited us to come and partake of His body and His blood. As we did “power from on high returned and the glory filled His temple once again.
Then I heard this verse,
I am the LORD; that is My name! I will not yield My glory to another or My praise to idols. Isaiah 42:8
The clutter (yes, even spiritual clutter) in our hearts has demanded attention, affection, and precious time. Often we have become more fascinated by our spiritual discoveries more than the Lamb that was slain. But as we are coming up to the time of Passover, Good Friday and Easter I believe we will see the true gospel set us free from the captivity of things that have vied for our time and attention more than Jesus alone! In Him are all things and all things belong to Him. His glory comes and fills the temple as we return to the Love that came into a fallen world to live a spotless life and then take upon Himself the sin of all mankind. With every lash, every thorn, every scorn and every nail; the power of sin and death were broken. The with the words, “It is finished!” He made a way for mankind to have everlasting and abundant life. All power to save, heal, deliver and set free is in the death and resurrection of our precious Jesus.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Our upper room waiting is happening now as the Spirit goes through our hearts and cleanses us of the clutter (even spiritual things) that have become idols. Power will come as the body and blood of Jesus are restored as the source of all.
As I was surveying the current state of the world around us, I was struck by the reality of the vast amount of distractions that have pulled on our “affections” prior to this Covid-19 quarantine.
From the activities of going to a restaurant for a meal– to seeing a movie– to shopping for one more thing– to attending a sports event(or watching one on TV)– we are constantly having our time filled with things that entertain and comfort us. Even Christian conferences, concerts and events have become a form of entertainment that has consumed the affections of many believers.
But suddenly they have all been removed. As I was pondering the issue of how all of these things that pull on our affections and how they have suddenly been removed I had a quick vision of idols falling. I don’t think that most people set out to or intentionally make any of these things idols but anything that exults itself above Christ or is vying for our attention and affections above God becomes an idol.
God, in His mercy, is aligning!
Prophetic voices have been prophesying “alignment” for a long time. We’ve been taking about the plumb line of God coming to align His people. It’s been happening on a small scale but not like we’d hoped or like we could see in the spirit. Now, suddenly it’s happening. We now can see the pull that these other things have had upon our affections— yes, even conferences and ministry events.
Are they bad? NO! Of course not. They are wonderful gifts but they were never meant to replace the personal, face to face time with our God. But if they become the focus of our affections that have replaced personal time with God and time in His Word then alignment is needed.
I remember when my husband and I had young children we felt to turn off cable and get rid of our TV because it had become a distraction to true face to face family time. The first week of its absence was like “going through withdrawals!” It had become the background noise in our home and it called for our attention to be turned toward it all the time. After that first week we adjusted and began spending greater quality time with God and with one another. Alignment took place in our family. We removed the thing that was becoming an idol because it was demanding our affections. Our souls wanted to be appeased which left our spirits malnourished.
As we go through this time let’s begin to take personal inventory of those things that have been removed that pull for our affections even more than God. We can repent and ask for alignment so that when these things are once again available we will live in alignment and balance. Let’s not have this crisis be a “mere moment” of sobriety from things that have become idols or distractions that have gained our affections above the Lord.
Ask the Holy Spirit to realign your priorities and the affections of your heart and soul. This truly is a moment in time that we are “coming back to our senses!”
I also want to encourage you to get face to face with your family members; those who are closed in with you! Let God rekindle the love between you and your spouse and let this be a time of restoration between parents and children. Share your hearts, carve out time that you walk together, play together, talk together and even heal together.
Let’s see our affections redeemed and those things that have become idols fall. Soon we will be able to eat out, see a movie, enjoy a sports event or attend a Christian gathering but let’s never again allow these thing to have a higher place then Jesus! May His throne in our private lives have the highest place!
Often the Lord will speak to me through short “one liners” that just echo through my spirit until my soul stops to listen closer and press in for more. I’ve had a few of these “one liners” doing just that since the quarantine began.
They are short sentences such as these:
• I am extracting the precious from the worthless.
• I am separating the wheat from the chaff.
• I am shutting you in so that I can break you out.
• The distractions have been too loud for my people to hear me knocking on the doors of their hearts.
• Rend your hearts, not your garments.
There are more but these particular words have been blowing around in my mind like a constant gentle breeze that invites me to breathe them in until they revive me once again.
The restless hearts that demand constant activity (even the good activities) often cause us to live like a young couple with toddlers to care for. We go from morning to night working hard for something right and something good (raising children) but never take the time to stop and rediscover the intimacy and love that caused us to stand before God together to say, “I do.”
No one faults young parents for the non-stop activity that comes with the privilege of raising children. And yet, if they don’t make time to stop, get away and rekindle intimacy and love with one another then in the end they will harm the very ones that they set out to form into beautiful people (their offspring). The love between “dad and mom” are the foundation of that family. Without intimate connection bitterness, judgements and divisions seep in.
We do the same thing with God. We say “I do” and give our yes to Him out of the deep love that saved our lives and captured our hearts. Then we begin to build His house (Kingdom) together, raise up children in His family, go and make new children, teach those children, etc. But somewhere along the way the Bride has forgotten that the foundation of the Church is love. Her “yes” and “I do” was formed in the grip of first love. We must return to that foundation.
“For God so loved the world that He sent His only Son…”
In 2020 we are embarking on the greatest harvest of souls that has ever been seen. When Billy Graham passed away the mantel that he carried to harvest souls by the masses in stadium settings was passed to the Church. Now, this year there are more stadium events planned then ever before. And in the midst of the busiest planning season ever— everything goes silent and is in a forced STOP. Covid-19 steps in and become a vehicle to restore our crown (corona).
Yes— the enemy has his hand in this because he fears this harvest of souls more than any other thing. But, God is in this too! A couple months ago I was taken into a vision where I saw a baby named “Harvest” placed in a bassinet but then I was taken up higher to see that this bassinet was actually a oval stadium. The massive size of this baby filled the stadium. There was more to the vision regarding identity and healing for this baby but I knew that this “harvest baby” was going to be placed in the stadiums.
The leaders and people of God were planning but not ready! The foundation of family (intimacy and love between the father and mother) had been talked about more than ever but not acted upon; first love was replaced with non-stop activity, the purifying our hearts and hands had not happened and allowing Him to extract the precious from the worthless (the wheat from the chaff) needed to take place before being entrusted with this baby. We were preparing the bassinet to receive the harvest more than our hearts to receive the fruitfulness! Both are needed but only one is truly essential! Our hearts!
The phrase, “Rend your hearts, not your garments.” means this: In the Old Testament days, when the Israelites sinned, to show how sorry they were, they would cut up their clothes (rend means to tear) to show God how sorry they were for their actions. The scripture in Joel 2:13 that says,
“Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.”
What this verse is really saying is that they should cut sin from their hearts instead of cutting their garment in ritual ways that men can see. Go, lock yourself in with God and rend your hearts before Him.
In the church today we have all the right words but have lost the “gift of repentance .” Too often we use words (through teaching, prophesying and worship lyrics) to “rend our garments” yet it is the rending of our hearts that God is after. There is too much hidden sin; places that the worthless is defiling the precious and the chaff is covering the wheat. As Joel 2:13 says,
“…for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.”
In His compassionate grace and out of the abundance of His love He desires to remove the things within our hearts that separate us from Him. As we rend our hearts He will relent in sending calamity! He will respond to the repentance and halt calamity. He has loved us enough to stop us from allowing our gifts to be like garments that cover our sin. He loves us too much to see us riddled (pierced) with guilt. The church has been running hard to avoid that which lurks beneath the surface and must stop and ask for our hearts to be purified. HE LOVES US TOO MUCH TO LEAVE US HOW WE ARE!
We could not bring the “worthless” to the stadiums because it would not only have harmed the baby but ruined the foundation needed for revival. The stadiums merely represent the place that a mass harvest will take place. But our hearts must be made ready first. We must “repent for the Kingdom of God is near.”
If you’re still reading this (many will have stopped at the first mention of repentance) then remember, “repentance is not a bad word!” It is freedom! It is life! It is restoration and it is the breakthrough that we have prayed for and longed for.
Repentance is a gift; therefore we must ask for it. We don’t even know how to repent on our own; we need His Spirit to do this work within our hearts. We know how to feel guilty or feel regret but the true “Godly sorrow that leads us to change (repentance)” has been lost in all the busyness and activity. Words have replaced action and events have replace the secret place.
So now, in the gracious, compassionate and abounding love of God (who longs to relent from bringing calamity!); we have been stopped! A forced pause has come to allow us to ask Him to rend our hearts and extract the precious from the worthless, the wheat from the chaff as we find ourselves upon this threshing floor in time.
“Holy Spirit, here we are. We need the gift of repentance. True repentance that rends our hearts to cut away sin; to remove the worthless. Spirit of God, extract the precious from the worthless in our lives and remove the chaff as we lay before you on this threshing floor of quarantine. Discipline us because you love us and make us ready in the day of your visitation. Thank you for this forced pause (this Selah). Restore to us the joy of our salvation and renew a right spirit in us. As you stand at the door of our hearts and knock— we stop to let you come in. Come and dine with us and feed us the spiritual food that we need.”
Do not waste this time. Go before Him in humility and pray. Pray for yourself, for your family and for the nations. Now is the time!
