Jeffrey and I wrote this Christmas devotional book together and called it “The Sounds of Christmas.” It is a beautiful hardbound book that has 25 stories and meditations themed around 25 different Christmas songs that ring forth the joy of our Savior’s birth.
This is perfect personal devotional or a family devotional. Isn’t it time to start a new Christmas family tradition?
Bring the “sounds of Christmas” to life with this wonderful book. It makes a great gift that is both personal and affordable at only $7.99!
My life is busy!! My brain is full and to be honest— I’m easily distracted!! Is anyone else like that?
So— I have learned to use lists! If I go shopping or have a busy day planned…I make a list. When I have an upcoming birthday or at Christmas time I make a list! WhenI pack a ministry trip or vacation—yep, I make lists to keep me on track and so that I don’t miss something important. When we moved cross country in January…A LONG CHECK LIST WAS ESSENTIAL!
What about with prayer? Yes— I make prayer lists!! Not for every prayer time since I like to live a lifestyle of continuous prayer. But for my focused daily prayer time I have a list. My list includes prayer points that I bring before the “Throne of Grace” and as I bring each point before our Lord, I then wait for His Spirit to lead me in His intercession for that person or subject. It is not dry or legalistic but rather it keeps me focused and at the same time leaves room to be led by the Spirit to go deeper and spend more time on what He reveals needs more attention.
My prayer list is also an ongoing testimony book of answers! I always leave space to add notes and the testimonies of answers to those prayers. It becomes the spirit of prophesy to the prayers yet to be answered.
For instance— I pray for all of our ministry supporters each day. As I mention them by name, I wait and I am sensitive to the Spirit giving me insight and His heart to press in deeper day by day for specific ones. I do the same thing with our children. I bring each one before Him and wait…always asking Holy Spirit to lead me and pray through me for what He knows they need; not just what I want for them.
Usually my list includes prayers for our nations leaders, our local church leaders, our city and nation. Again, as I bring these before His throne of grace— I pause and listen for His voice and to feel His heart. Some days it’s merely mentioning these things and other days it become deep intercession. He leads— I follow!
I also pray His Word. Praying aloud the scriptures over your loved ones, leaders and nation will never come back void! For instance, yesterday I had Ephesians 3:17-19 on my heart. It reads,
“I ask that out of the riches of His glory He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. Then you, being rooted and grounded in love, will have power, together with all the saints, to comprehend the length and width and height and depth of His love, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
I began to pray these verses aloud over my children, my husband, our ministry supporters, our leaders and our nation. That they (we) would be rooted and grounded in love and the knowledge and fullness of God. His Word is always better than my words!
Far too often the church will view anything planned as “religious or legalistic.” That is not true! We can make lists and still yield and submit to the leading and flow of His Spirit. Often the church is not getting things accomplished due to distraction and the desire to be freely led— but think of how much is accomplished when you do both. You make a plan and you yield to the Lord directing and establishing your steps— even in prayer.
“The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD directs and establishes his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
So—as the Christmas song goes, “He’s making a list, checking it twice…” During this time of heightened distraction in the spiritual atmosphere it might be good to make a list! Then bring your prayer points before the throne of grace and where Jesus will meet with you.
“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” Hebrews 4:16
This was the word that I released in December 2019 as my 2020 Word! During this time of “unrest” in our nation, REST is a key word for our victory!!
“By My Spirit” in 2020: A Decade of Rest By Kathi Pelton
“So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty Zechariah 4:6
Each time I see the numbers 2020 I see this verse overlaid upon it. As I have prayed into the decade ahead, there are two of the things that the Lord has highlighted to me:
• The sovereignty of God will be displayed throughout the earth.
• Resting in His sovereignty will be where victories are won.
As I was praying into these two things the Lord began to highlight an interesting item in the new house that my family moves into across the nation (in the Washington DC region) as a prophetic sign. That “interesting item” is that this house has an elevator!! What?! No, we are not moving into a mansion but it was built as a model home for the community it is in and they put everything that was offered into it. An elevator for the three floors is one of those options. We are giving the option of laboring to get somewhere or resting in “by His Spirit” to take us higher.
As I listened to the Lord for the meaning of this elevator I saw Jacob’s ladder and felt that there would be an ease about going up to the heavenly places and then an ease in returning with the revelation given. There will be a lot of going up and coming back down beginning in the new year. This will be the source of keeping us out of constant “ups and downs” in our souls.
After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” Revelation 4:1
The invitation and the open door is before you! The key to entering in is resting in the sovereignty of God. “Not by night, not by power but by His Spirit!”
Just as I was pondering this “elevator prophetic sign” Patricia King, who raised me up and mentored me as a prophetic voice, released a word and encounter regarding going up in the ease of an elevator to receive deeper revelation!! This was such a confirmation for me (you can find that word on The Elijah List from 12/30).
As our family prepares to move next week to the Washington DC region (we will be in Virginia) I found myself getting emotionally prepared for a battle. Everyone that we know who has arrived there has had to face great battles. I found myself figuring out all sorts of ways to prepare spiritually, mentally and emotionally. It was like a subconscious preparation. As this was happening the Lord interrupted me. He said, “Kathi, what are you doing? Do you not know that resting in Me is the key to your victory?”
As He spoke those words I remembered the verse from Zechariah 4:6 and then the phrase that says, “It takes two to fight” kept going through my mind.
The enemy will try to pull you into “fight mode” because the past decade as been a “warring decade.” We have becomes more familiar with the battle than the rest of God. It’s what we’ve known and what we are familiar with but it’s time to change our “default” from battle to rest.
As we have laid down all that we have known to enter into the new we need to know that the key to victory in the next decade is spiritual rest. It is an abiding trust, peace and rest that does not engage in the provocation of the enemy that is designed to pull you out of rest and into war. I don’t exactly know what that will look like but I trust that He will teach us. This will not be lethargy or inactivity but rather a spiritual rest in His sovereignty. It’s a posture in your spirit that aligns your soul. There will be battles but the battle belongs to the Lord and will be won through the rest of the Lord.
I learned many years ago that supernatural peace was the key to my personal warfare being defeated (which you can read about in my 30 Days to Breakthrough: Stepping into Peace book). Where there is peace there is no fear or warfare! But this rest will take us deeper and it will be the one thing that the enemy cannot fight. You will be like a warrior of rest.
Then I came across a word by Bob Jones that I had never seen before, it is all about 2020-2029 and rest! Here is that word,
“The 2020’s will reveal the ‘Rest’ of God, to where the Body will come into a place of resting in God, where God will rest in us. And in this rest, the enemy will not be able to do warfare, because we are resting in God and He is resting in us. He will accomplish the things He means to do in a people that is at rest. He has always wanted a people that will come into His rest; there never has been one but rest is on the way.” Bob Jones
Rest is on the way!
“…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Hope and rest will be closely tied together. They walk hand in hand. If rest is the key to victory then hoping in the Lord is the key to rest. Hopelessness will drain and exhaust you and battling in the way you have in the past will merely bring you into a war against hope.
Lay down you weapons of the past decade and pick up the spiritual weapons of the next decade which are rest, hope, trusting in His sovereignty, and accepting the invitation to “Come up here.”
I hear the “ding” of the elevator arriving and the doors opening to take you up. You will receive revelation and impartation about true rest for your souls and true spiritual rest. This will bring you much healing from the traumas of battle from the past decade.
The doors are now opening…enter in!
Thank you to ALL of my amazing followers who have and are continuing to stand with us in prayer and financial support during this time. We are praying for you daily and decreeing every promise of God to rest upon your life and home.
WE ARE NOT 25 ANYMORE!! As much as we feel young…the reality is that we must embrace all the beauty (grey hairs & wrinkles) that comes with “age.” Wisdom gained is one great reward of living through many stages of life. Time has been a patient teacher to train us how to live, how to embrace dependency in all of God’s ways and how peace leads us into joy.
One of the greatest rewards of aging is watching the fruitfulness in our “now grown” children’s lives. It is like watching the best home movie ever! Our youngest is about to be married in August and for the first time ever- we have an empty nest (which is both heart wrenching and beautiful). Watching and walking alongside of our children’s struggles and triumphs is such an honor. Seeing them blossoming into all that God created them to be takes our breath away and causes us to declare, “It’s all been worth it!” That being said, we do have one prodigal that we will never stop fighting for…we believe and declare her identity in Christ every day; expectantly awaiting this prodigal to run home to her Father one day very soon. We wait in peace and joy…because He is faithful. If you have a prodigal then praise over them! Declare the goodness of God over them and wait in joyful expectation until you see them run home.
In June I turn 56…how? Yet, I can say that it’s been a life well-lived and still, there is so much more to live and so many more to love. This past week marked 37 years since my 25 year old boyfriend asked me to marry him and I said yes. We had so many big dreams and yet so little understanding of the mountains and valleys that we’d have to walk through to see those dreams come to pass. And, of course…those 25 year old dreams didn’t include the struggles or waiting that would be required to see them come to fruition. But it was in the struggles that character, integrity, perseverance and faith was built in our lives. God has truly exceeded our dreams in every way. We’ve only just begun! You have only just begun!
Whether you are old or young–DREAM BIG! I’d rather reach high and come up short then reach low and see nothing! I’d rather try and fail then never risk and never learn. Yes, there have been shortcomings and failed attempts but there has been great victories and flags of victory planted on the tops of mountains that were conquered! We have had seasons of tears but reaped a harvest of joy at the end of each one. Our tears watered the seeds planted in our hearts.
So…no, we are not 25 anymore. Our memories and stamina isn’t what they once were but He has renewed our strength and so we continue to run! Our independent ways have turned into absolute dependency and surrender. Our love has grown from a fluttering butterfly into a eagle that is full of strength and undivided focus! Wisdom has crowned us with grace and peace has wrapped us in a robe of rest.
Wherever you are in life, be sure to embrace the journey. Scale high mountains and then plant flags of victory when you reach the top. Walk through valleys of tears and let them water the seeds of the dreams that God has planted within you. Find water in desert seasons and miracles in impossible situations.
Let every season yield a harvest of fruit and wheat. Holy Spirit descend upon us through every year and every season so that we have no regrets but the testimony of Jesus is written upon our lives!
Once again I want to extend a huge “Thank You” to my readers who have stood with us in prayer and financial support during this time! No words can properly express our gratitude. We are praying for you and your families daily.
I love words! Being a writer means that paper is my canvas and words are my paint. Finding the right word to describe something seen in the spirit or in the natural is vital to helping the reader to understand and have vision.
Our ministry is called, “Inscribe Ministries” based off of the verse from Habakkuk 2:2 that says,
“Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.”
To write a vision requires the right words which bring about understanding to the reader or listener of “how to run!“ It’s so powerful.
Jesus is called the 𝐿𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑊𝑜𝑟𝑑 because He encompasses everything found within the Word. All creation came forth from the words He spoke. There is power in words; to bless or to curse, to speak life or speak death, to empower or disempower and to build up or to tear down, to create or to destroy.
Our words matter! We must ask the Lord to train our mouths to speak words that bless, give life and empower those around us to run. Your words are usually a good way to x-ray your heart,
“A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.“ Luke 6:45
This is why we must follow the wisdom found in Philippians 4:8,
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
As we think on these things they renew our hearts and minds causing what comes forth from our mouths to profit those who hear our words. When I was a new believer my heart and mind still needed to be renewed by the Word therefore critical, negative, fretful and judgmental words would leak out; always exposing what needed to be cleaned out of my heart. God was not condemning me, but if I were honest, my words were a clear sign of where my heart needed to be cleaned and renewed.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10
When my husband and I were directing a house of prayer for Patricia King she would lead prayer sessions with us where we would “decree the Word of God.“ These times trained our team and all who attended how much power comes forth as we decreed His written Word! I quickly saw the fruitful harvest that would come when I spoke aloud His Word over my life and my family’s lives. Decreeing His Word is like allowing your heart to be strained through the Spirit of Truth; filtering out all the dross.
I remember asking the Lord to put a coal of fire near my lips so that I would not speak anything unholy.
“So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The LORD of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.”” Isaiah 6:5-7
These verses come right before the verse that says, “Here am I, send me.” This is so important before being “sent.” We must be sent with words of life, hope, truth that prosper and edify the hearer. We must go forth with hearts that have been made clean.
As we begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel regarding this global quarantine, I believe that the eyes of the Lord are searching the earth for the ones He might send. But let us first pray the scriptures written above. We need pure hearts, clean hands, words that have been freed from the grip of iniquity and thoughts that profitable to the hearer! We need words that release vision and cause the sent ones to run with purpose.
Today, listen to your words so that you can do a ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑐ℎ𝑒𝑐𝑘. Then, if you find that your words are revealing areas that need to be renewed and cleansed; don’t enter into guilt or condemnation because God loves it when we receice His lovingkindness that brings discipline. He is so happy that you desire a clean heart and He has provided you 𝑊𝑂𝑅𝐷𝑆 𝑇𝑂 𝐿𝐼𝑉𝐸 𝐵𝑌.
It’s time to prepare to be sent ones! We must carry words of life that bear fruit wherever they are sown.
Thank you to each of my readers who have stood with us in prayer and financial support during this time. We are praying and decreeing all of His blessings and promises over your life and family.
For days now, all I can say are these words, “We are being taken back to the blood of Jesus and the finished work of the cross!”
That sums up the “prophetic word for this hour” that we are in! Jesus Christ and Him crucified for the sins of the world.
Repentance is falling upon the church and it is setting us free! Why? Because it is immediately met by the blood that cleanses us and the broken body that heals us. This is the message that we must carry into the days ahead. We will see that there is POWER IN THE BLOOD—wonder working power.
We have come up with so many formulated prayers; curse breaking prayers, blood line prayers, healing prayers, deliverance prayers and “repeat after me” prayers but I believe we are going to see much of those types of prayers fall away because when the power is about to come on and it will flow from the message of the blood of Jesus and the finished work of the cross only. Manifest power will flow like never before! This simple and true message can be carried and spoken by all His people.
As we are shut in, we are like the disciples in the upper room after Jesus ascended. We are waiting for “power from on high to fill us.” The Spirit of God lives in us already but I had a vision the other day of Jesus knocking on the door of our hearts and when we opened the door our hearts were so crowded with other “spiritual things” that there was no room for Him to come in and dine with us. Then a spiritual spring cleaning occurred and it removed all that was crowding our hearts till it looked like a clean and empty room. Then Jesus set up a table in the middle of this room and put the communion elements (the bread and wine) on the table. He declared, “It is finished.” Then He sat down at the table and invited us to come and partake of His body and His blood. As we did “power from on high returned and the glory filled His temple once again.
Then I heard this verse,
I am the LORD; that is My name! I will not yield My glory to another or My praise to idols. Isaiah 42:8
The clutter (yes, even spiritual clutter) in our hearts has demanded attention, affection, and precious time. Often we have become more fascinated by our spiritual discoveries more than the Lamb that was slain. But as we are coming up to the time of Passover, Good Friday and Easter I believe we will see the true gospel set us free from the captivity of things that have vied for our time and attention more than Jesus alone! In Him are all things and all things belong to Him. His glory comes and fills the temple as we return to the Love that came into a fallen world to live a spotless life and then take upon Himself the sin of all mankind. With every lash, every thorn, every scorn and every nail; the power of sin and death were broken. The with the words, “It is finished!” He made a way for mankind to have everlasting and abundant life. All power to save, heal, deliver and set free is in the death and resurrection of our precious Jesus.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Our upper room waiting is happening now as the Spirit goes through our hearts and cleanses us of the clutter (even spiritual things) that have become idols. Power will come as the body and blood of Jesus are restored as the source of all.
When you stand in the direct sun on a clear day it will cast your shadow onto the ground with vivid and vast definition. Why? Because you are blocking the sun that is shining directly upon you. Yet, on a cloudy or stormy day, you rarely see your own shadow as there is no sun for you to block.
Sometimes in a “stormy season” of life I find that I actually see the shadow of His wing covering me more than on the clear days that are absent of storms. When I am in full dependency because circumstances are beyond my control I become so aware that I am being kept and covered by my Heavenly Father’s love and protection. Yet, occasionally on clear days (days absent of great need) I will find myself beginning to walk in “my own shadow” and begin to venture outside the shadow of abiding in Him.
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91:1
There is something that is within human nature (or sin nature) that is prone to wander, to go our own way, to be independent, to give into the desires of the flesh. Yes, even within Christians! Though we learn through experience and spiritual maturity not to give into these temptations; still they call to us and there are still times that we give in.
For me, those times come most often when my life is “carefree” and the sun is shining— when all my skies are clear. I think that it’s just that when we don’t “feel” the urgent need for dependency or divine intervention we can begin to dwell in our own shadow. I don’t actually believe that I can ever truly leave the shadow of His wing, because I am His daughter, but my focus can leave the place of abiding and I can begin to focus on my own shadow (which is just “me”).
I remember a season in my life many years ago that was months of “clear skies!” Spiritual and circumstantial summer had come. Our family was thriving, relationships were thriving, finances were thriving, our ministry was thriving, business was thriving, and even my physical being was thriving. What a glorious beginning to that summer season it was! I woke up rejoicing and went to bed rejoicing. But as that season moved from days to months I began to unconsciously abide in and “glory in” the freedom from storms more than in the rest of the Almighty. I found myself beginning to follow my own shadow rather than abiding in His. It all looked spiritual and good but I had begun to venture out of abiding in His shadow and into enjoying the shade of my own shadow because the sun was shining so brightly in my life. Toward the end of that season (which was to be a gift from God) I found myself feeling disoriented, disconnected from God, careless in my decisions and utterly aware of the faults within the lines of my shadow. My security and rest had shifted from Him to striving to seize the days of “more than enough” (as I knew that like every season, this one would be limited in its duration).
That time in my life was a wonderful lesson on how to remember to remain (abide) and rest in His shelter rather than find my security in the “lack of storms.” I think that there is such an emphasis on circumstantial “breakthrough” in the lives of believers that we forget that He is our breakthrough! He is our dwelling place, our hope, our warmth, our light, our portion, our refuge, our abiding place and our rest. This must be established in every season.
People often focus on achieving breakthrough from adverse circumstances, but we don’t prepare to live in it when it arrives. The poverty spirit can live in prosperity as much as it can in scarcity, but it manifests as greed and independence. We know how to live in need but do we know how to live in abundance? Wealth and riches can be a far greater burden than poverty because a greater responsibility and accountability is required. I believe that God wants to entrust His people with abundance but we must be prepared to remain in Him (fully dependent, sober, humble, at rest and prayerful) or our breakthrough can become our breaking. It’s so easy to find comfort in the fullness of our flesh and soul but our spirits will always long to be satisfied with Christ alone. We must remain living out of our spirits and to train our flesh and soul to find fulfillment in God.
Let us be a people who can live abundantly in every circumstance because we live in the never-changing fullness of our Savior. We live in the constant breakthrough of His love, His grace, and His victory. We live in the shadow of His wing which gives us rest.
He is breaking us out of the mindsets of “feast or famine,” because it is there that we splurge or starve rather than abide and thrive in the constant abundance of a never changing God whose promises are true and kept in every season and every circumstance.
One last thought; when the sun is in front of me, my shadow is behind me but when the sun is behind me my shadow goes before me. Let us keep the Son in front of us and not behind us!
In every season, sunshine or storm, let us say,
“I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”” Psalms 91:2

This morning I kept seeing a specific assignment that has been sent against many of God’s people that was keeping them from effectiveness and fruitfulness. It was an assignment to create “idle lives.” It was coming through depression, anxiety, cynicism, illness (infirmity/injury), hopelessness, rebellion and even mental illness (or mental fog).
These were specific assignments to cause lives that were created for an effectual work that would destroy the works of darkness and establish His Kingdom of light to be diminished and become idle.
An idle machine is one that is unused. It may have everything it needs to be effective and of great use but it is not in use and therefore it is idle.
If that is you then begin to break all agreements with an idle life! Begin to prophesy over the areas that have been targeted by the enemy to render you idle. Prophecy the purposes of God over your body, your soul and your spirit. Prophecy the restart of your life and calling!
Declare diligence, perseverance energy, action, exuberance, liveliness, robustness, sprightliness, vibrancy, vigor, vitality and resurrection over your life! These are key antonyms for idleness and spirit filled words that bring life to that which has fallen asleep.
Lethargy is closely related to idleness. The spirit of lethargy is one that has been sent against God’s people time and time again. But I believe that with every assignment sent by the enemy, he looks for an “agreement” through avenues such as self-loathing, unbelief, disappointments, hope deferred, depression, etc. There is often a “wearing down of the Saints” that creates a landing strip for lethargy.
After a serious car accident in 2016 I had to fight the temptation to agree with a “new norm” of continual pain that would result in idleness (and quite frankly good reason to become idle). After a time of recovery my new norm had to be “daily overcoming” rather than being overcome by pain everyday. God is very compassionate toward the attacks that have come upon many of you but there is an overcoming that comes by rejecting an agreement with whatever “life sentence” the enemy is trying to place upon you. Agree with the fact that you overcome through the blood of the Lamb and the word of His testimony.
Some agreements could have come through a weakness that you personally have dealt with that has sought to become your identity or to disqualify you from being effective for His use and His Kingdom. But the Bible makes it clear that it is in our weakness that Christ makes His power known! Reject that which apparently has disqualified you! Agree with “Christ in you!” He is the resurrection and life! There is constant movement (while experiencing spiritual rest), continual forward motion and a fruitfulness in every season as we allow “Christ in us” to be the source!
Take the time to break every agreement with idleness. Your agreements may come from legitimate struggles but God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than you can ask or imagine. Agree with Christ in you— to live and move!
“For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’” Acts 17:28
It is time to live and move and have our being— this means “I exist!” Choose life, stir your movement and declare over your life, “I exist! I am a carrier of His glory!” The enemy want you to disappear from the scene and to become unseen, unused and non-existent! YOU EXIST! It’s time to be seen, to be effective and allow the world to see Christ in you— the hope of glory!
As I sat with the Lord this morning I heard the sound of boots marching forth. It was an army of “boots on the ground.” Then I not only heard them but saw them. There was a mighty mountain standing in their way— BUT THEY COULD NOT BE STOPPED! They were moving in the conviction of His Word, the obedience of His instructions and the persuasion of His promises. They were confident in the assurance of faith. They were not dissuaded by what their eyes were seeing or even the voices that were trying to persuade them to stop or turn back. They knew the voice of their God and were marching toward the impossible with a joy that came from knowing their God who makes all things possible. As their feet began to touch the base of the mountain it began to crumble and become level with each step taken but it wasn’t leveled until their feet touched it. They had to move forward to see the impossible made possible. Then I heard the words, “Mountains will move in March as My people march forward!”
It is time to exchange your hope deferred for the “assurance of hope.” Move into the true conviction of the unseen things that God has spoken to you and apprehend them in faith with action. Begin March by marching forward in the faith that says to the mountains that stand before you, “Be removed!”
This week there will be some of you who will go straight through what stood before you last week just because you moved forward in the assurance of your hope! That mountain has no power over you when you walk in the assurance of faith. It crumbles at the sound and touch of your feet of faith. Your boots are your confidence in Him and they have power over everything that has exulted itself against His name, His Word and His truth. It crumbles at the sound of true faith on the move. Like David before Goliath; it will fall!
Rarely in my life have I seen the way open up before me prior to steps of faith taken; it is when I stepped forward (in His leading) that the way was made and mountains were moved.
So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Matthew 21:21-22
Far too often God’s people wait for the mountain to be removed and end up setting up camp at the base of the mountain that stands before them. They don’t know the authority that accompanies their faith or that the mere sound of the forward movement of their faith levels the path and clears the way. Many who have camped at the base of these impossible mountains have lived in the shadow of hope deferred which has caused their hearts to grow sick. Disappointment and disillusionment have become their view but the Lord is not stopped by mountains or threatened by obstacles; He is calling you to put your boots of faith back on and place your feet on that mountain— then watch as it crumbles before you.
Mountains will fall, giants will fall and hope deferred with crumble as you see your desire fulfilled! What has the Lord spoken to you? Are you waiting passively to see it come to you without putting your feet upon the mountain or facing down the giant? March is a month to put on your boots and march forward— speak to that mountain, “Be ye removed!” Go forward.
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
