Oceans in the Desert

There is a pathway that all believers are invited to journey on throughout their lives. It is a path less traveled and a path unknown by those who do not know Christ. It’s a path that doesn’t make sense to our human senses and a path that cannot be planned out through natural understanding. This path that we are invited to journey upon merely requires surrender and dependency. It requires that you surrender the demand to understand, surrender the dependency you have on walking by your sight and it requires you to lay down your independence. It is called the path of hope and trust.

As you let go of your ways and ask the Spirit to set you on the path that follows His leading alone, only then will you discover true joy and peace.

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

I once heard the Spirit say to me,

“Do not settle for a glass half full when you can have one that overflows.”

I have found that as I following the leading (path) of the Holy Spirit my cup overflows. This path causes the enemy absolute confusion. He doesn’t understand the movements or ways of the Spirit. Just as God’s ways confound and confuse our human minds, like so it confounds and confuses the enemy.

The safest path you will ever journey on is this path of hope and trust in God alone. It’s not only a shortcut with less bumps and obstacles but it’s also the only one that promises the benefits of joy and peace.

In my life personally; I rarely know where I’m going, the details of how provision will come in to get there or what will happen when I get there. But what I do know is that there has been more of an overflow of fruitfulness, wisdom and provision as I have followed His path then there ever was when I walked on the path that I understood. Plus, joy and peace accompany me like faithful companions all along the way. Every day is like walking in the company of those who have a surprise for you. Joy and peace lead me with such enthusiasm and confidence that it becomes contagious.

It’s not too late to begin your journey on this path less traveled…the path that overflows with hope, joy and great expectations. Let go and let God!
