He Came To Give

By Kathi Pelton

The Christmas season is a time of giving— giving gifts, giving time, giving meals and giving love. What an appropriate thing to do as we celebrate the One who came to give his all so that we might have joy, peace, and eternal life.

His birth, his life, his death and his resurrection set a table for us that we are invited to take a seat at. It’s a family table and anyone can join the family and feast of the many gifts upon this table.

All that you need or will ever desire is served here. Nothing is required of you except to come and believe.

I am reminding of an older movie called Hook with Robin Williams. At one point in this movie, he (who plays an adult Peter Pan) is sitting with the lost boys at a long table and the lost boys are feasting on a meal that Peter Pan cannot see. In this iconic imaginary food scene, one of the lost boys realizes that he has “lost his belief” and says, “Remember” When Peter begins to believe again he suddenly can see the food on the table and partakes in the food and fun.

Some of you may have forgotten to believe and it’s time to remember that faith that you once had.

It is time to see the feast that the Lord has set before you and partake. The good news is that we are not “lost boys” but sons and daughters that have been found and received at our Father’s table.

Joy and gladness are at this table. Your wilderness is exchanged for Eden in this place. Thankfulness, peace and praise is restored at his table.

“For the LORD has comforted Zion. He has comforted all her waste places, and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD. Joy and gladness will be found in them, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.” Isaiah‬ ‭51‬:‭3‬ ‭

The Father sent his Son as the greatest gift the world will ever receive. But he must be received. A gift must be received and opened or it is just a pretty box under the Christmas tree.

At the feet of every man, woman and child is the gift of salvation through Jesus just waiting to be received and opened.

Within that gift is the table of the Lord where you can feast on the fruits of Eden. This is the endless gift that will never run out or cease to keep giving.

He came to give— and that giving will never end.

As we remember all that He gave— would you consider giving a gift to our ministry to help us finish 2025 well?

Thank you!
