Oceans in the Desert

As I was having a conversation with another prophetic voice about “Jesus as our plumb line”, I was taken into a vision for our nation.

Vision:

I saw a plumb line that was hanging from heaven over the United States of America. To the left of the plumb line was a camp of people that were zealously trumpeting their demands that were humanistic and contrary to Biblical truth. To the right of the plumb line was another camp of people that were equally zealous about their demand for religious rights and conservative standards and yet they were trumpeting their “cause” in the name of Christ but not from the love of Christ. In the center was the plumb line that aligns all with perfect love and truth…Jesus.

The left and the right had set up camps of “for and against”. They were both eating the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil but the plumb line of Christ stood as the “Tree of Life”.

As I was watching this vision the plumb line suddenly turned into a carpenter’s chalkline. I saw the chalkline snap to mark a line of truth that would allow for a straight and righteous cut to be made that is aligned with Jesus the plumb line. It was a standard being set by the Spirit of the Lord.

When this happened the scene immediately changed and I was looking at the scene of when Jesus was with the women who was caught in adultery and those who were about to stone her. I saw Jesus as the plumb line in this scene as He sat between two opposing opinions and as He spoke the words, “He without sin cast the first stone.” As He spoke these words I heard the snap of the chalkline that set the standard and caused all flesh to humble themselves to His wisdom and perfect love. Truth and unfailing love brought forth wisdom, justice, mercy and repentance to those with the stones as well as to the woman caught in sin.

Jesus is marking our nation with a line that makes clear His standard. His standard will cut through the soul to make way for the Spirit of the Lord. The soulish justice of men on both the left and the right will be exposed as flesh and the Lord’s standard of justice will bring life and the Spirit of Truth.

We must guard our hearts from the zeal of the soul that takes sides or creates camps. We must only have a zeal for Christ and His standard that brings life, unity and oneness with God. We must not continue eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil but choose to eat from the Tree of Life. The knowledge of good and evil does not produce life for it lacks perfect love and mercy; only bringing the judgements of men.

God is marking our nation with a line that brings life and not death, unity and not division, truth rather than opinion. This chalkline will make a clear and precise cut in our nation that will be filled with the mercy of the Lord as He declares over us, “Mercy triumphs over judgement!”
