Oceans in the Desert

A team of eleven of us from different states (CA, OR, WA, MA) all gathered together for a week in Ottawa to join in with the Canadian family at the “As One” gathering.

Words cannot express adequately all that the Lord did to restore, heal, unite and bring us into a oneness that we have never experienced to this depth on a corporate level.

We watched such a powerful and beautiful joining of the generations (from the very young taking the lead to those in their 80’s and every age in between). God took us so deep in worship, prayer, joy and reconciliation. We danced with great abandonment and wept with overwhelmed hearts as God brought together relationships that had been torn apart.

Humility was the key and understanding the truth that when we are emptied and have nothing to offer but our weakness; it is then that His strength is made manifest.

It wasn’t a “marrying of ministries but rather a “marrying of family.” The oneness that Jesus prayed for right before going to the cross in John 17:21-23 became the glory that wrapped around us to do what only God could do.

As the gathering ended a double rainbow appeared over the Shaw Centre in Ottawa where we met together.

We finished our time in Ottawa by praying on Parliament Hill. We stood before the doors and announced that the One true King of Canada is upon the throne and rules over the nation with wisdom, justice and righteousness. Then we sang, All Hail King Jesus together.

From there we went to the National House of Prayer in Ottawa that we helped launch in 2005. Though we have been there many times throughout the years; this time was particularly precious as it became a full circle moment for Jeff and I as well as the NHOP leaders, Rob and Fran Parker. We spent time worshipping, praying and prophesying over one another and our nations. It was a time that we will never forget.

As we head to Washington D.C. we will carry with us all that God did in Canada to our release in our nation. As we have spent almost two decades standing on guard for Canada, which is such a great honor, we know that God is stretching our arms across both nations. We believe that the open heaven we all experienced in Ottawa will open over Washington, D.C. as well.
