A Baptism of Fire Is Falling

By Kathi Pelton

Recently the Lord took me back to recount the memories of the first time I truly felt His fire fall upon me. It was after a season of a darkness wilderness and then a deep healing. As His glory and fire was poured into my life (like a baptism of fire), I was continually compelled by a holy unction to chase what He loved and to find out what He was doing. Day after day I found myself quickened by His love to give a prophetic word or pray for someone that I did not know. These encounters happened in grocery stores, at gas stations, in restaurants and on the sides of the road. I could not contain this fire in my soul and it sparked fires upon others as well. It was probably the most joyous time of my life.

As the Lord reminded me of this season, He showed me a vision of children running in the darkness chasing fireflies. It was such a carefree and joyful vision. I asked Him what this vision meant and He showed me that this fire that I experienced in my early years is falling on His children once again. They will go out into the darkness and they will see someone in need and release the words that they need to hear. Then they will go to the next one and then the next one.

They will be like children chasing fireflies!

These children of God will go out with great joy chasing the ones that He highlights— for they will appear like fireflies in the darkness— they will be lit up and highlighted as the ones who are ready to receive salvation. The they will release the word of the Lord upon these lit up ones that saves, heals and delivers them. Then they will release them back into the night; ignited with a holy fire and with eternal light.

“For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭1:6-7

The Lord is releasing a fresh baptism of fire that is coming upon his sons and daughters. Then, those who are ripe for harvest will be lit up like fireflies before those who have received this baptism of fire. They will run to the harvest that has been prepared and made ready for salvation.”

We say, “Here I am, send me!”

Luke 3:16 “John answered them all, saying, ‘I baptize you with water, but he who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.’”

It’s time to receive the baptism of fire abd begin to chase those fireflies!
