Oceans in the Desert

On that bright night, so long ago in Bethlehem, the Savior of the world came to us in the form of a tiny baby. He was born to a young Jewish girl who began the high honor of being the mother of the long awaited Messiah with the words,

“Be it unto me according to your word.”

Her words of surrender made a way for the ultimate surrender; His life. His existence on earth began with her surrender and ended with his surrender.

Today, we honor the legacy of Mary by continuing a posture of surrendering our all to the One who gave His all for us. His “all” ushered us into freedom from sin, death and captivity. Our surrender allows us to enter into the fullness of that freedom.

What a joy to be grafted into the bloodline of that baby who changed the world at the moment of his conception as his young, virgin mother spoke the words that now rest on our lips,

“Be it unto me according to your word.”

The stars that shone so bright on that night still light up our darkness and announce that a Savior has been born unto us. The angels that witnessed the birth of our Messiah still today sing,

“Glory to God in the highest, and peace, goodwill to man.”

Let us join in with their song and give our lives as an offering to Him. Let us bring the very thing that He came and died for…you and me.

How can we say thank you for this gift that cost His all? By holding nothing back! If there is anything that has been held back in your life or heart today go and lay it at His feet. He takes every offering and breathes life and salvation upon them. Every offering becomes blessed when surrendered to Jesus.

I bless you this Christmas with my prayers that you will have courage and grace to offer your all. It is the gift He paid for and that will come back upon you abundantly more than you could ever ask or imagine.
