Your Pause Has Purpose

by Kathi Pelton

We are in the midst of a great “crossover” time in the body of Christ. It is a time of great movement and leaving the familiar to enter the land of promise and inheritance.

Yet, for many, their crossover began but then was seemingly “stopped” right as they stepped forward. For my husband and I, we began crossing over and after a couple of steps we heard the words, “Now pause.” This was very confusing but we obeyed. Then the Lord took me to the Book of Joshua where I read this,

“Give this command to the priests who carry the Ark of the Covenant: ‘When you reach the banks of the Jordan River, take a few steps into the river and stop there.’”” Joshua‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭

“TAKE A FEW STEPS AND STOP THERE…pause!” Why the pause or stop? Because God sent the priests in first that carried His presence so that the river would dry up and the rest of the people can cross over first! What if your pause is so that by faith you can stand in the river and watch it part for others to pass through? Your pause and our pause may be to intercede, encourage and carry His presence for others to cross over.

This journey of faith can often cause us only to see our walk and our call but we have been called to make sure that the whole family crosses over and no one is left behind.

If you stepped out in faith to cross into the land of inheritance and after only a couple steps you found that you had to stop then maybe this word is for you and your pause has great purpose upon it! So stand with purpose and stand as one carrying His presence so that the multitudes can cross over ahead of you. Rejoice that you have been called as a priest and take joy that you can be one who is making a way for all to crossover.

“Meanwhile, the priests who were carrying the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant stood on dry ground in the middle of the riverbed as the people passed by. They waited there until the whole nation of Israel had crossed the Jordan on dry ground.” Joshua‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭

Stand! Hold the ground until all have crossed over.

Our ministry is in the midst of a “great crossover” into many new things. With this crossover our need for prayer and financial support is much greater. Will you stand with us in prayer and financial support? To give to our ministry go to: https://www.inscribeministries.com/

  1. Hi Kathi,
Our family is in the same pause too. What is odd was that we felt we had already passed Jericho but now I wonder. Anyways it all started October 1 and it has been two months of a great deal of stress and trial during this pause. The financial strain has been just one of the many stresses we have had to face. At first we thought we wouldn’t have enough money to stay in the motel room only to have a little bit more come in at the last minute. Now we face losing the car. This has been going on steady since early October. Just wondering if you and your hubby were experiencing the same hardships during this time?

We know God is orchestrating this but after all that we have been through the amount of stress and strain we have experienced is unprecedented. There are many like us and we can see it happening all over the globe. It seems like satan and his minions has carte blanche to block the saints, patriots, conservatives and the faithful at this time. Very discouraging at moments and we have had to fight very hard to keep our hope alive. We pray your family is holding up well.

Anyways we pray the Father releases us all soon.

    Blessings,
