The “Yes” That Fills The Room

by Kathi Pelton

Sometimes your “Yes” to Jesus comes with great excitement and joy but when your “Yes” comes with the sober awareness of sacrifice and cost; then it must be accompanied by the awareness and posture that cries out, “You are worthy of it all!”

These times remind me of Mary, a teenager being visited by the angel of the Lord who announced that the Holy Spirit would cause her to conceive a child, the Messiah. She had to be keenly aware of at least some of the cost; reputation, misunderstanding, accusations and so much more. Yet, in that moment of “being chosen” her response was this,

“And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” LUKE‬ ‭1:38‬

“Be it unto me according to your word.” Those words have become the deepest cry of my life. I would pray them in the days of my youth with little understanding of the weight that they carried. Though I’d never change that innocent response of the “teenaged me”; today when I pray it I understand the weight of taking up my cross and following Him.

The beauty has far outweighed the cost and we choose not to count the cost but rather to count it all joy! He is so worth it all and making His worth known throughout the earth is what we live for. To see Jesus receive His full inheritance is our greatest joy. He gave His all so how can we give any less; even in the moments that our “yes” has the fragrance of sacrifice upon it?

I believe every “yes” is a pleasing offering to Him but the “yes” that is accompanied by tears and an awareness of truly having to “let go of your will to receive His” is especially beautiful to Him.

If you are in a “Yes” moment…either for the first time or you’ve lost count because you live a “yes lifestyle” then remember that the only regret we’d ever have at the end of our lives would be the times we held anything back from Him. Our “all” is the only offering that is fitting the God who gave His all.

When He visits you, to choose you, respond with the only words that are fitting, “Be it unto me according to your word.” If tears and sacrifice accompany your response then know that your words are like the costly perfume in the alabaster jar poured over His feet once again. The fragrance of your yes fills the room!

We say yes…

One response to “The “Yes” That Fills The Room”

  1. Kathi, I love this, and YES, it’s been my life style. He told me he was bringing “Oceans to my Desert”..as you know years ago. Since then, My mom and Dad have died, as well as my Husband. My children are all moved away to other states and places. I am…now walking into the call of my life. Interestingly enough..I read Mary Woodworth Etters book 20 years ago, I wept at the immense loss in her life, but yet, read on to see the power God allowed her to walk in for souls. He told me about his business several years back for me. It’s called “The Soul Purpose”. I have also met whom I believe is the man I will marry. I had a vision of myself at his church worshiping with a ring on my left hand, but it was “a type and shadow” of what’s to come. We share what was spoken at the Ocean when I met with Father. It is fitting that I share a prayer with you for this “Spoken future”. A marriage of two who are waiting for their spouse, and a marriage of Ministries, all for his Glory and a Harvest of MANY Souls! Thank you Kathi, I release into your life, as an act of my will, all power, and Fire needed to complete your ministry for our Jesus.. giving Father all the Glory in Jesus name amen 👑
