The Father’s Great Love

By Kathi Pelton

The other day the Holy Spirit took me into a very deep revelation regarding the Father’s great love for one of my children. I think as a mom I find it hard to believe that anyone can love my children more than I do. I carry them every minute of every day in my heart, in my thoughts and in places too deep for words to express. As I was carrying one of them that was facing a painful circumstance the other day I found out how deep, wide and high the Father’s love for them is. It not only measured up to the love that I have but it far exceeded it to the point that I found myself completely undone. Of course I knew this was true in my mind but experiencing it was beyond what I had known.

As believers we “know” a lot of things about our Heavenly Father and we believe those things. We read in His Word about sending His Son to die for us (what kind of love does that?), about His character, His enduring love and His Holiness. But sometimes we just need to stop and let ourselves experience His love. I am sure that what I experienced for my son the other day was merely a shadow of the depths of His love. If He had allowed me to experience more I do not know that my emotions or Earthly body could have handled it. I was absolutely undone by the wisdom of His love, the kindness of His love and the deep emotions within His love.

I don’t think that we often see our Heavenly Father as emotional. But please believe me when I say that He was deeply emotional in this encounter that I had. He knew that this son that we share was hurting and He was weeping with sobs that left me wrecked by His love and tenderness. His longing for this son was beyond anything I understood prior to this. His passion to reveal His heart and love for him was like the sound of a violent storm or the crashing of waves in the ocean. It wasn’t subtle, it was dramatic and deep. We, as humans, often try to quiet or suppress our emotions and calm the deep expressions that we feel, the Father had no such restraints. He unashamedly wept and poured out His heart with such a force that it left me unable to do anything but fall on the floor and weep with Him.

You should know that this was not even about an issue of salvation. The one that He was weeping for is walking with Him and pressing into Him. But he was hurting and the Father’s love was hurting with him. This experience has shifted how I see the love of the Father for me and for every person that I see now. Our Father does not hold back the great love He has for you or for me. He expresses it with great depths, heights and width. I wonder if it is His love for us that makes the seas rage or the winds blow or even the ground shake. When you weep, He weeps with you. You are loved with a force that shakes the Heavens and the Earth.

As you go through your day today; know that the love of the Father is greater than anything that you will face or any fear that will try to cause you pain. This must be why it is said that “perfect love casts out fear”! Within the grip of this love nothing in Heaven or on Earth can stand against it. Go out this day confident in the great love of your Father.

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Dare to Live Abundantly

By Kathi Pelton

Did you know that God never intended His sons and daughters to live in the status quo? We were never created to move according to social or economic demands. We were created to live in His abundance. Our lives have great purpose with supernatural resource backing all that we do. I, personally, don’t want to spend a single day of my life letting circumstances or social/economic atmospheres dictate my posture or movements. I want to stop each morning and find out what the Father is doing and then do it with Him.
This is how Jesus lived. He did what He saw His Father doing,
John 5:19-20
Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.
Don’t allow your life to be enslaved by what the world demands or the limitations of the “seen” world. In all that you do, find out what the Father is doing and allow the supernatural and unseen Kingdom to come into what He has you doing. The world systems and seen world have very narrow boundaries to move in that make great demands with little gain. A hard task master rules who seeks to steal the abundant life that you were created for. But our loving Father gives us room to run, explore, adventure and move within the boundaries of His great love which is limitless. These boundaries are not seen with human eyes but with the eyes of our spirits and they free us to be who we were created to be.
Psalm 16:5-8
Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.
I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.
I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken
I want to know where God has set my boundary lines, not where circumstances have. Within them there is safety and delight. There is freedom to live abundantly and not live in the restraints of circumstances. I have lived both ways and abundant living is far better!
Our souls kick against this kind of living because it is not the norm and not something that our minds or emotions can comprehend but this is where our spirits come alive and begin to soar. I’m not talking about every man and woman quitting their jobs and traveling for ministry like we do, I’m talking about in EVERYTHING you do and wherever you do it, doing it in a supernatural way in the boundary lines that the Lord has set for you. Those lines will never be constricting but always will be beyond what you can imagine. They will be supernatural and you life will be filled with God-stories where His Kingdom came in and made the normal into the miraculous.
I want to challenge you to live in God’s abundant life. Each day find out what the Father is doing and do that. Jesus was our example. With each disciple He called them away to follow Him,
Matthew 4:18-20
As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, He noticed two brothers, Simon who was called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. And He said to them, “Follow Me [as My disciples, accepting Me as your Master and Teacher and walking the same path of life that I walk], and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example].
Is He calling your name? Follow Him!

Our True Inheritance

By Kathi Pelton

In the past few years the true meaning of the word inheritance has become very real to me. Both my parents suddenly passed away within a short time of each other, leaving my siblings and I with a financial inheritance. My parents worked hard for many years.  They spent countless hours carefully investing and consulting with financial advisors through both prosperous and perilous times to preserve funds for their retirement and security.

In the end, the money could not replace the inheritance that we truly needed as their children. Money could not hold our family together, but merely divided us.  It was our hearts that needed investment and needed to be secured. If time had been invested, and spiritual seeds sown, we would have been rich.

What I had longed for all my life was a relational and spiritual inheritance. I have watched many men and women who have been blessed with a long line of parents and grandparents who have given their lives to see a spiritual inheritance passed onto their children and their children’s children. These godly parents invested time, love and honor into their children. They taught them how to walk with God and how to love Him with all of their hearts. I have always been in awe of this kind of legacy—a godly inheritance that would not pass away.

I honor the work of my parent’s hands and how they labored for many years to make a good life for themselves and leave a monetary inheritance for their children.  The truth is that I would have traded every penny for a spiritual inheritance.

The Inheritance That Will Never Pass Away

A spiritual inheritance is something that my husband and I have been laboring to leave our children and our children’s children. It is something that we can give them while we are still alive, and something that we can leave them after we are gone.

Psalm 37:18 says,

The blameless spend their days under the Lord’s care, and their inheritance will endure forever.

Teaching our children to live fully in the Lord’s care, in absolute dependence on His promises and to listen to His voice every day of their lives is the greatest investment we can make. We would give our very lives to make sure that within our family we prepare a place where the blessing of the Lord can rest for generations to come.

Our greatest longing is for our children to know that they are loved not just by us, but by the One who gave His life for us. We invest our love, time, prayers, counsel, affections and finances into each of them.  We long to leave an inheritance of truth and righteousness that reads, “His love endures forever!”

This is an everlasting inheritance; one that will not end. His love is eternal and is the answer to every question they will ever need answered after we are gone. The height, width, length and depth of His love are the boundaries that we want our children to live in.

Psalm 16:6

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

His Inheritance

Along with teaching our children about leaving a spiritual inheritance, we also have taught them that they are the inheritance that the Father longs to give His Son.

Investing in His inheritance is the greatest investment that we can make. For thousands of years the enemy has sought to kill, steal and destroy the inheritance that is to be given to Jesus. WE ARE HIS INHERITANCE! You are His inheritance; every man, woman and child that has every lived was created to be His inheritance.

Psalm 28:9 says,

Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever.

God is moving on the hearts of His sons and daughters to go into all the Earth to gather the inheritance of His Son. They are dispersed throughout the nations, and many have been sent to gather the lost seeds. The Father is waiting for the return of His sons and daughters who are His Son’s Bride.

The Prodigal: His Inheritance Comes Home

God longs for His family. He longs for every wayward child, every son and daughter that has wandered from His care.

Just like the father in the parable of the Prodigal Son, our Heavenly Father waits with anticipation for His sons and daughters to return home. In that story the son feared returning home because he had squandered his father’s inheritance and was too ashamed to face him. But all the father longed to do was embrace his son and cover his shame by restoring him into his family.

Luke 15:20-24

“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

“The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

“But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.  Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate.  For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.

The father was not concerned about the money that had been wasted, because he knew that his son was the true inheritance. Our Heavenly Father understands this; He gave His most precious possession—Jesus—in order to provide a way for His family to come home. His family is His inheritance. You and I are the true inheritance.

A Jubilee Year

As we have now passed Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) into the year 5776, we have entered what is considered a Jubilee year. Jubilee refers to a year where debts are paid and land is returned to its original owners.

I believe that this is God’s Jubilee year for many. Many prodigals will have their debts forgiven and they will return to their true Father. God’s inheritance will increase and His family will grow. Let us announce this jubilee over our families, over our cities and over the nations. We will partner with our Father to see His Son have the inheritance that He is worthy and deserving of.

This year both physical and spiritual inheritances will be returned. There will be a transfer of wealth from the enemy camp to God’s family. This wealth will be lives that have been held by sin and death as well as resources that have been in the hands of the ungodly.

Proverbs 13:22

A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.

God will release the wealth of sinners in the hands of the righteous this year in ways that will astonish many. These transfers will resource many to go forth to bring Jesus His inheritance.

A Now Word: Transfer of Wealth, Salvation and Prisoners Set Free

By Kathi Pelton

A word of encouragement for God’s people:
I believe that there is a great transfer of wealth and resources coming into the hands of the righteous who have laid down their lives to fulfilled God’s will and to see all glory given to Him. This is to ALL who have surrendered in whatever role the Lord has placed you in to be His representative. I see resources, land and finances being transferred and being prepared to be transferred even now.
I also believe that there is about to be a great influx of sons and daughters (prodigals) returning home along with the eyes of those who have never walked with the Lord being open.
Last, I see a great visitation of the Lord that is about to come upon prisons. I see angelic visitations for those in prison that will be like Saul’s conversion to Paul. These visitations will bring immediate and sudden deliverance from demonic strongholds and tormenting spirits that have kept these men and women enslaved. The hardest of the hard will become the softest hearts of all. Prisoners will be ministering to the guards and they will both be free in Jesus. People will go to prisons to be set free.
Agree with me in prayer for these things. As we agree with Heaven and humbles ourselves to pray; great things will be unleashed.

Your 911 is Secure

By Kathi Pelton

On this day when the world remembers the towers that fell on 9/11/01, we have a hope in a strong tower that cannot be destroyed but keeps us safe from all evil.

Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous runs to it and is safe and set on high [far above evil].

As we run into our strong tower we can know that it will never fall nor be destroyed. Jesus is our strong tower and He is a safe place to be lifted above the evil that seeks to steal, kill and destroy. Do not let the fear of evil cause you dread or steal your joy because your strong tower is sure and secure. He is your homeland security and the lifter of your head.

Man made towers may fall but the name of the Lord is the tower that will never fall and never fail. I AM is forever and He is eternal. Nothing in Heaven or Earth can shake this unshakable truth. The angels surround Him and the demons flee from Him. In Him you can find safety and be lifted above your enemies.

As we remember the towers that fell and the lives lost in them this day, let us also remember the Strong Tower that cannot be shaken and provides safety for all who run into Him.

For Every Problem There is an Answer

By Kathi Pelton

The longer I walk with the Lord the more I realize that I can fully depend on His faithfulness. I am able to stay in a place of rest as different problems arise that would have sent me into a panic in my early years walking with Jesus. I have watched, again and again, God come through in ways that I could have never imagined as I let go of control, worry and trying to strive to find an answer. I often wondered why things were delayed but often the delay was self imposed because I hadn’t surrendered to His wisdom and ways and was in the way.
Whether the problem is financial, relational or something else you must rest in the fact that your Heavenly Father has an answer and a solution. When a problem or obstacle arises I first surrender to His wisdom and His supernatural intervention to come and turn it around.
Isaiah 43:19b
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.
I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
His is the ONLY One who can create out of our void. He did this with the utter darkness at the beginning of our universe. He said, “Let there be light.” and there was. He can do the same with any void, lack or darkness that is before you. He can speak light and light will come forth. He speaks to a block in your way and it is cleared as a pathway for you and He speaks to the dry wastelands and BEHOLD…there is water!
What is before you that is causing you to have anxiety in your heart? Allow the Holy Spirit to turn your anxiety into expectation. What a great adventure as He writes your story and makes it the most amazing adventure that your children will ever read.
I was talking to a 20 year old girl recently and she was sharing with me how her parents have a “testimony” box of all of the amazing God stories that have happened in their lives. They loved to get the box out and read to their children the stories of God’s miraculous provisions and the ways that He made for them to pass through into their promises. What a wonderful idea. Our family has a bowl of “stones of remembrance” that is filled with stones that have dates and names on them when miraculous help came to us.
There is no problem or obstacle too great for our God!!! Surrender the problem and then watch God extend His staff and make a way for you. Join Him and follow His leading so that you can partner with Him in walking out your miracle but expect to see His hand move on your behalf.
Jeremiah 33:3
‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’
Begin this day with surrender and expectation. Your problem is not a problem for the Creator of the Universe…who is your Daddy!

New Wineskins

By Kathi Pelton

God has been hard at work in His people’s lives to take them from “the old to the new”.

When you pour new wine into an old wineskin it bursts and we are coming into a time where new wine is about to be poured out so His people had to be transformed into a new wineskin that could hold the new wine.

Mark 2:22
And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.”

Allow the work that He is doing in you to be completed. It is a time to let go of the old and the familiar for the new and the unknown. Trust Him…though you’ve been emptied out; YOU WILL BE FILLED!

Isaiah 43:18-19
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

The new wineskins are even now being completed and the new wine will soon be poured out. This is how both are preserved. Get ready!

God is Working Behind the Scenes

By Kathi Pelton

As I sat down to write this morning I immediately saw God planning many surprises for His kids in September. It was like watching parents preparing all of the surprise gifts that they plan to give their children on Christmas morning.

I personally love preparing surprises for my children. I am always taking note of both little and big things that they mention in passing that would bring them joy or that they dream of having. Then I take those secret wishes and do whatever I need to do to make them come true. I am always working behind the scene to fulfill their heart’s desire.

This is true with God as well! He is hears your prayers and even sees and takes note of your secret desires. He has been working behind the scene on your behalf to surprise you with what your heart has been desiring. He has angels on assignment to help fulfill both your needs and your longings. It is like parents preparing for Christmas morning…He is making the final touches, the final preparations for the great reveal!

Just as December is the end of the year for our calendar, our September is the end of the year on the Jewish calendar. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year (begins the evening of September 13th and ends the evening of September 15). December is our Christmas but this year I hear the Spirit saying that September will be His Christmas gift to His family.

Watch the second week of September…this will be the week before the Jewish New Year. I sense that many surprises will be revealed during this time period. Rejoice!

I keep hearing the chorus to the song, “Good, good Father” being sung as I write this. These words are your reality and your truth! Be blessed today because you have a good, good Father and you are loved by Him.
You’re a Good, Good Father
It’s who you are, It’s who you are,
It’s who you are
and I’m loved by you
It’s who I am, It’s who I am,
It’s who I am

Because You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways to us

September marks a time of changing seasons. It is the gateway of Fall; weather turns brisk, sweaters come out of the closet and leaves begin to change colors. It always feels like a time where we begin nestle together inside of our dwelling places and find HOME again.

For me, the word “dwell” comes to mind when September arrives. Family gatherings will begin to be planned and the preparations begin. In my home September is the time of pumpkin candles being burned, muffins and pies cooking in the oven and firewood being cut outside. Home becomes a cozy place to dwell.

Did you know that the Holy Spirit loves it when we prepare our hearts as His home to dwell in? Just like my family loves the preparations in our physical home for each new season, so does the Holy Spirit love it when we prepare a home for Him to dwell in.

Ephesians 2:22
And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.

Isn’t it amazing that God lives in us by His Spirit! We need to be both deliberate and excited about preparing the home in our hearts for Him. What are some things that He loves?

~ Unity
~ Humility
~ Mercy
~ Forgiveness
~ Thanksgiving/Gratitude

And so much more!

As you prepare your home for fall also remember to prepare your heart for the Lord to dwell in. Make it a place that He loves and finds true “home” within.

One evening during the holiday season last year I was overtaken by the presence of God who said to me, “I love your home and how you prepare it with such care.” I was overwhelmed with His pleasure and it was the best compliment I have ever received. Then He said that He loves the home I’ve prepared in my heart as well. Wow, I was speechless.

May God be able to say those words to each of us. As we prepare our homes for family this fall may we also prepare our hearts for God to feel at home within.

The Strength of God’s Wisdom

By Kathi Pelton

Today is the last day of August 2015 and we will finish this month in the strength of the Lord. As we have continued to let our own strength go in order to align ourselves with the strength of the Lord, it will enable us to begin September even stronger than we began August. The more dependent on His strength we become the stronger we become. The world says that independence is strength but the Word says that dependency upon the Lord is where we become strong.

Strength comes in God’s wisdom! The wisdom of man brings us only human results but the wisdom of God brings forth supernatural results. I want to live a supernatural life, not a natural life. When I receive God’s wisdom and knowledge I am strengthened with confidence because I know that the hand of the Lord is upon me and goes before me.

Solomon knew this truth! Let us start September like Solomon when God asked Him what He could give him and Solomon answered by saying,

10 ” Give me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before this people, for who can rule this Your people who are so great?” (2 Chronicles 1:10)

Then God answered him in 2 Chronicles 1:11,

11 …Because this was in your heart and you have not asked for riches, possessions, honor, and glory, or the life of your foes, or even for long life, but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may rule and judge My people over whom I have made you king,
12 Wisdom and knowledge are granted you. And I will give you riches, possessions, honor, and glory, such as none of the kings had before you, and none after you shall have their equal.

Asking for wisdom was the wise thing to ask for! It brought Solomon not only what he needed to rule the people but it brought the blessings of riches, possessions, honor and glory. I hear so many of God’s people asking for provision but maybe we should be asking for wisdom so that God’s people may walk in great authority and the other things will be added.

I will end August asking God for wisdom and knowledge and I will begin September dependent on His wisdom to lead me, direct me and strengthen me. Will you do the same?
