Oceans in the Desert

After nearly two months of constant travel my husband and I came home and immediately were faced with a very dark situation that a precious friend is facing. As we have been navigating our way through this grievous situation that is affecting so many, I could find myself becoming “distracted by the darkness.”

Last night as we prayed as a family for all involved I suddenly heard, “Be still and know that I am God.” In that moment I knew that we had done all that we could do and now it was time to stand and be still in the confident trust of the Lord. In our quiet surrender we felt peace and release come upon us. We had wept, interceded, reached out, ministered to those affected and now it was time to release it into the hands of the One whose name is Victory! We entered into the stillness of absolute trust and dependency.

Then I heard His voice invite me into His light. I saw a picture of me coming out from beneath a dark cloud into the unfiltered brightness and warmth of His light. Suddenly I felt the warmth of His light and love fill me and overcome the darkness that had loomed over the situation we’d been dealing with.

Yes, in this world there is so much darkness but there is a light that dispels all darkness. He is the Light of the World, the hope of all mankind, the peace that surpasses understanding and the One whose blood has paid the price for all sin and darkness. He is Jesus.

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”” John‬ ‭8:12‬ ‭

If you are facing darkness or if darkness has come to cloud your view; move into the Light! He is always there to remind you that the victory has already been purchased and assured to all those who will put their trust in Him. He is inviting you to come and soak in the Son. Let the light, warmth and love permeate your soul. Don’t stay in the shadows of darkness but come and let His light move you into hope and the absolute confidence of trust. He is saying to you too, “Be still and know that I am God.”

I hear this over individuals and I hear this over nations. Hong Kong…You are not alone and He will be exulted in the nations! Let His light fill you with hope and a new song; a song of deliverance. Let the sound of His faithfulness be heard throughout the nations.

Come and bask in the light of His love and grace. Come into the stillness of His agape love and confident hope. Cease striving and know that He is God!
