Prophetic Dream For America

Kathi Pelton

Last night I arrived in Washington DC and as we drove by the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial, lit up against the night sky, I could feel the longing of God for our nation begin to swell in my spirit. I went to bed last night with intercession for our nation stirring within me.

When I fell asleep I went into a significant, prophetic dream.

The Dream:

I was with the group of international prophets meeting together in our nation’s capital. We were seeking the Lord together for the United States. In the dream I asked the Lord what He wanted to say to us and as I asked I was suddenly taken to an aerial view of Washington DC. Then this aerial view was transposed onto a large silver coin. Then the Spirit of the Lord asked me, “What is your nation’s motto?” I answered, “In God We Trust.” As I spoke the words they appeared upon the silver coin. The Spirit then said, “This is what will save your nation.”

Then, in the dream, I was taken to see many in the body of Christ who were interceding for our nation, who were prophesying over our nation, who were standing with our nation or living in our nation. As I looked upon them they were under severe personal attacks. I asked the Lord why there was such an attack against His people at this time. He answered my saying, “Their ‘trust’ in Me is under attack. If the enemy can cause My people to lose their trust in Me then He can win the battle for your nation. The key to victory is found in the words, ‘In God We Trust.’”

In the dream I began to prophesy what I had just seen and as I did I began to repeat over our nation and over His people and over my life the words, “In God We Trust! In God I trust!” Then the Lord said something that shot through my spirit like a bolt of lightening. He said, “It only takes a remnant to win this battle for your nation! A remnant that will put their trust in Me!”

As He spoke these words; life and hope surged through me with such victorious power. The words, “It only takes a remnant.” repeated over and over in my spirit until it began to pour out of me with the Spirit of prophesy upon them.

Understanding the Dream:

There was more to the dream that I may share later but I will save that for another time. What I want you to understand from this dream is that the attack against you has been a direct attack against your trust in the Lord! It may have taken the form of health issues, financial lack, relational issues or even mental/emotional attacks but what the enemy is after is your trust in God!

You are a part of the remnant that will rise up and say, “In God I trust and in God we trust.” These words and this posture is the key to seeing this established in our nation. What appears to be a personal attack is in fact an attack against America and her key to victory. The inscription on our coins is the key to purchase back our nation for God.

Within the dream I was with international leaders that I recognized from Canada, Israel, Germany, Asia, Japan and many other nations. They were all standing with us in our nation’s capital because they knew that the time was now to stand with our nation. The victory in America was also a victory for their nations. They felt the weight of the Lord’s longing for them to join us and stand with the United States until we gained the victory. They brought their “trust” as a part of the remnant that would turn our nation back to God.

Conclusion:

No matter what you are facing or battling, know this: it is a battle for your trust! Rise up and put doubt under your feet! Put every word of accusation against the Lord and all circumstantial evidence that has been raised against Him under your feet and stomp it out with the words, “In God We Trust!”

Let these words rise over your life and rise over our nation with the incense of intercession and prophetic declaration! Let the remnant arise and put their trust in God alone. It only takes a remnant to arise and see a nation saved!

“Rise up, O God, and scatter your enemies. Let those who hate God run for their lives. Blow them away like smoke. Melt them like wax in a fire. Let the wicked perish in the presence of God. But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy. Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the Lord — rejoice in his presence!”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭68:1-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Here I Am; Send Me!” This Is A Time Of Being Commissioned and Sent

by Kathi Pelton

I saw the hand of the Lord touching individuals and placing assignments upon their lives. He has been repositioning many and now I saw Him commissioning them.

It reminded me of when God appointed and commissioned Jeremiah as a prophet to nations,

““I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”” Jeremiah‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭

Jeremiah’s response to this was to dispute God’s choosing saying that he was too young. God answered Jeremiah by saying,

“The Lord replied, “Don’t say, ‘I’m too young,’ for you must go wherever I send you and say whatever I tell you. And don’t be afraid of the people, for I will be with you and will protect you. I, the Lord, have spoken!” Then the Lord reached out and touched my mouth and said, “Look, I have put my words in your mouth!” Jeremiah‬ ‭1:7-9‬ ‭

He is the one who appointed you, even before you were born! This is the time of commissioning. It is He alone that will fill your mouth to stand and speak in the places that He will send you. It is His favor that will make a way for you, not your own strength. He is God and there is no other; therefore, He will be sovereign to accomplish through you that which you could never do yourself.

I remember many years ago being in a worship service and hearing the Lord ask me if I would go wherever He wanted to send me. I wholeheartedly responded with the words, “Here I am; send me.” I had little idea what those five words would release upon my life.

I think that at the time that I spoke them I didn’t truly believe that He’d use me in any significant way. I was a housewife and mother of young children who ministered on a local church staff. But God does not make anyone for insignificance! He put His words in my mouth and now has sent me and given me courage to trust His strength as I have stood before nations.

This was not because I am the most gifted to do this or the most qualified. Actually it is quite the opposite. I am the least qualified but it is God who appoints and commissions, and us who says, “Here am I; send me.”

Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8

Whether you are called, like Jeremiah, to prophecy to nations or you are called to be His voice in the marketplace, do not fear because He will fill your mouth with His words.

One thing that I have learned in my walk is utter dependency. As a young girl I had terrible stage fright. I remember being asked to sing a solo in a school concert and when it came time to sing it no sound would come out of my mouth. Fear blocked my voice and though my lips moved no sounds came forth. To this very day if I put any dependency upon myself that old fear will return. As I trust Him to fill my mouth then what comes forth is even surprising to me; for it is Him and not me.

Dependency and yielding to His Spirit is key to whatever gift and calling He places upon your life.

You have been appointed and now many of you have been positioned. Suddenly you will be commissioned! Get ready for the great commission to come upon your life and give you influence to the place and people that He has called you to.

“For many are invited, but few are chosen.” Matthew 22:14

Allowing your life to remain in Christ through the waiting and preparation is what positioned you to be chosen. Jeremiah had a choice regarding being a prophet to nations. When God said to him,

““Get up and prepare for action. Go out and tell them everything I tell you to say. Do not be afraid of them, or I will make you look foolish in front of them.” Jeremiah‬ ‭1:17‬

He had a choice! He was chosen and he obeyed the call and was commissioned. Many are called but few choose to follow. You have stood the test of time and said yes to His call. You will go forth as one of the few and see many saved, changed and then, they too, will become one of the few.

Do not be afraid for He is with you! Do all that He has asked you to do and watch the victories come forth.

Has A Mountain Been Raised Before You? It’s Time To Take It Down!

by Kathi Pelton

Yesterday our worship set had two songs that the Lord used like weapons of warfare in our midst. The first song was Bethel Music’s “Raise A Hallelujah” and the second song was an Elevation Worship song called “Do It Again”.

As we sang, danced and declared the words to these songs the atmosphere as was electric with a faith-filled, overcoming authority that was “raising praise higher than the mountains raised against us!”

In the song, “Raise A Hallelujah” there is a section where the words, “Sing a little louder…” are repeated again and again as the voices build. As we sang those words louder and louder; raising our voices above the voices that shouted from the mountains of opposition, it was like watching the mountain crumble before our eyes. The shadows that the mountains had cast to darken the light of truth was removed and suddenly I found myself standing on top of the mountain “raising a Hallelujah!”

Unbeknownst to me, the next song would be “Do It Again.” This song is about how God will do once again what He has done in days past. One of the lines declares these words,

“I’ve seen You move, come move the mountains

And I believe, I’ll see You do it again

You made a way, where there was no way

And I believe, I’ll see You do it again”

As we sang and declared these words corporately there was so much faith in the room. Then I heard the Lord say,

“Have everyone stand on top of the mountain of opposition that has been raised against them. Then have them raise their Hallelujahs higher and louder than all that is under their feet and watch as it crumbles.”

We did! We all used the mountains that stood before us to take us higher as we “Raised a Hallelujah” to the One who levels the mountains! We lifted Him higher and as we did He lifted us above what stood against us.

This morning I awoke with the Lord saying,

“Invite them all to join in!”

He is inviting you to put that mountain that has been raised up to oppose you under your feet and from that place to raise your Hallelujah! Declare that He will remove the mountain once again. Let your faith arise, let your song arise, let your voice be heard, let light break through…let your praise be raised higher than the mountain!

Don’t stop! Sing a little louder! Dance on it, shout from it and watch Him do it again!

“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20

It’s Not “Either/Or” but “Both/And”

by Kathi Pelton

So much of life with Christ is not found in an “either/or” answer or posture but rather a “both/and” agreement.

Some examples:

• Is the prayer/worship or evangelism/discipleship more important?

— It’s both/and! Prayer and worship sets the field or prepares the atmosphere so that hearts are softened and the air is clear for eyes to see and ears to hear.

• Are those who go or those who give more important?

— It’s both/and! How can people go without those who give? It’s a partnership in which we have opportunities to do both. The reward and credit is the same in God’s eyes!

• Should we battle darkness or gaze upon His beauty?

— It’s both/and! Intimacy is not left in the place of gazing when we enter the spiritual battles. It is an unbroken bond of intimacy that fights together and retreats to rest together. They are equally important.

• Should we take our homes/city or go to the other cities/nations?

—It’s both/and! As a mom I spend a lot of time with my natural family nurturing, loving and making a home where His presence abides; but I also go out to strengthen other’s children, marriages and homes. We must stay and we must go because what we build in our homes and cities become what we can bring to strengthen another’s home and city (or nation).

• Do we preach love or truth?

—Both love abs truth! The love described in 1 Corinthians 13 is the only love that is filled with truth! All other love is conditional but agape love does not demand something in return.

There are more examples then I’d ever be able to post but these are just a few. People often have a “for or against” posture or an “either/or” posture but that comes from the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It creates separate camps and divisions over opinions, interpretations, human knowledge, limited understanding, different cultures, etc. The tree of life yields the sweet fruit of John 17:21. It is the unity/oneness that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit share and enjoy that we have been invited into.

Though they are One in every way, we can enter into that oneness and nurture unity with our brothers and sisters by laying down our right to be right. I’m not talking about compromising convictions but acknowledging that we all see in part and carry different parts in different seasons. Every part of the five-fold is equally important and needed to see the fullness of the Kingdom established. Every part of the body is needed to perform the function that they were created for. Every expression is a revelation of a facet of His beauty. Not one of us is completely “right” in our understanding of scripture or application of scripture but God sees our hearts and the motivation of our hearts. We are clothed in His righteousness in the midst of our imperfections and even misrepresentations of His true nature. We ask for clean hands and pure hearts so that our greatest longing is to see Him receive what He died for…mankind!

Let’s move away from the either/or and for/against mindset and begin to eat of the tree of life until we see the longing of Jesus’ prayer in John 17:21 fulfilled.

He deserves His prayer to be answered by a people who will humble themselves before Him and one another in the only “camp” worth living in…the tent of Jesus!

“that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.” John‬ ‭17:21‬ ‭

God Is For You!!

May 23.2019– Kathi Pelton

• When everything seems against you… “I am for you.”

• When the odds are stacked against you… “I will tip the scales in your favor.”

• When you feel alone and without help… “I am with you to help you.”

• When you have no answers… “I will give you wisdom & miracles.”

• When you cannot find your way… “I will carry you and comfort you.”

• When you feel too weak to carry on… “I will be the strength that you need.”

• When you face the impossible… “Remember—I make all things possible!”

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans‬ ‭8:28-31‬ ‭

God is Intermingling the Old and the New

by Kathi Pelton

The uncompromising message that I heard as a young believer that taught foundational truths, holiness, and freedom from sin and death has often been lost in the desire to let the world know that we walk in love. Yet, no one had to water down the truth that brought conviction of sin when I came to know the Lord. Sin was devastating my life, and the love found within the message of freedom from sin and a God who would die to redeem me from it was greater love than I had ever imagined possible!

Somehow many have concluded that any message that brings real conviction or exposes sin is not love. Yet, there is more love than we can imagine in the message of an invitation into freedom. The truth that the wages of sin are death and hell is now a politically incorrect message, yet it is the truth that Jesus died for; the one that saved my life and the lives of countless men and women.

The teaching of universalism is that there is ultimately no hell, no final judgement for any individual. There are those who tell us that it is unloving to proclaim the truth that rejecting Christ’s payment for sin will result in eternal separation from God. Such ideas have the appearance of kindness, but they are merely a recipe for watered-down Christianity.

Hell is real, but it was not designed for men; instead, it was meant for Satan and his demon army. Jesus made a way, through His death on the cross, for every man and woman to be redeemed, because He paid the price for our sin. We have the opportunity to receive the free gift of salvation and righteousness before our God. It is amazing that God has not forced His love upon us, but has given us free will to accept it or to reject it. Love offers a choice; not a compromised choice, but real freedom to chose.

When I was a new believer I understood these important truths, but unfortunately there were not a lot of true “fathers and mothers” who would come alongside us new sons and daughters in order to nurture us. Many of us who had chosen Christ and received the gift of eternal life still struggled with deeply wounded souls. I was one who carried scars from my childhood and from the many bad choices I had made that brought great harm to my young life.

Though I had experienced the amazing love of God during my salvation experience, rigid “Do no sin!” messages—apart from the healing of my soul to replace the orphan spirit I carried—merely reinforced an unhealthy demand to perform and set me up for failure.

We are seeing a wonderful shift in this season, and messages of love, healing, intimacy, our true identity in Christ, loving family, and generations walking together are now nurturing new converts and healing wounded souls. However, this does not negate the need for us to understand our hopelessness outside of Christ. We must understand the message of holiness and healing found in Jesus.

What I see happening in the Spirit is an intermingling of the message of uncompromising holiness, true conviction of sin, and Jesus redeeming men from the penalty of sin (which is death and hell) with the message of intimacy, family, sonship, identity, grace and His “reckless love.” It’s “not either/or” but “both/and.”

Either message without the other brings about unbalanced living. One demands holiness apart from healing, and the other creates compromise that makes people “feel good”; but they are being comforted within the constraints of their captivity. We need both! We need holiness and we need healing, we need uncompromising truth and unconditional love, we need to displace the enemy and then fill that place with the true identity that God created men to live in.

There is an intermingling of holiness and healing! There is an intermingling of conviction of sin and healing of hearts! There is an intermingling of uncompromising truth and intimacy! And there is an intermingling of foundational teachings and His reckless love that creates true disciples that know they are sons and daughters.

This will release light to those caught in darkness. It is the message the world longs to hear and the balm that souls need to receive. It is new wine poured into new wine skins. One without the other causes the wine skins to burst and the wine to be wasted.

Let us enter into a yielded life that allows the Spirit of the Lord to intermingle the fullness of all the aspects and characteristics of God within our lives. May a bride who is both holy and healed emerge in this hour!

The Rooster is Announcing the Dawning of a New Day

by Kathi Pelton

On August 2, 2007 I had an article published on The Elijah List called “The Roosters Are Crowing, “It’s A New Day!” (http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word.html?ID=5541).This word was birthed out of a time where our family was recovering from losing our home in a fire just months earlier. A Mennonite couple from Pennsylvania felt led of the Spirit to go on a treasure hunt with God to buy our family a prophetic gift. What they were led to buy for us was a beautifully crafted ceramic rooster to signal a “new day is dawning”.

Now, twelve years later, I am once again being reminded again and again of that rooster. It started a few weeks back when some friends and I was doing a “treasure hunt” for property. We were waking the grounds of a magnificent estate that is for sale and on one of the patios was a life size statue of a rooster. To say that it was out of place for this setting would be an understatement! But the “out of place” caused it to stand out to us! Immediately I remembered my prophetic gift from 2007 that said that beauty would come forth from our ashes and a rooster announced “the dawning of a new day.”

Since that day a couple weeks ago I have been seeing roosters everywhere! I hear the sound of their early morning crowing deep in my spirit which is awakening the dawn of a new day and awakening hope!

Yesterday I wrote a word about barn revivals and barn raisings that will occur in the days ahead. As I released that word I saw in my spirit a weather vane on the top of a barn. This weather vane had a rooster on it and was spinning around and around because the wind of the spirit was coming from every direction. It was like a holy whirlwind that was touching these barns. Then last night I was watching a news station that was tracking a tornado that had touched down in Ford County, Kansas. The storm chasers who were following it kept reporting how it was coming upon barns and only touching the barns. As I was watching this unfold before my eyes I once again began to see in my spirit the weather vane with the rooster on top of the barn that was spinning from the wind that was coming from every direction. It was a sign in the natural of what will come and touch barns…only the wind of the Spirit will restore and not destroy.

God often speaks to me through visions (I’m a seer), the natural visual things and through natural events that declare spiritual truths. In this season I am seeing barns, roosters, fire, wind and the dawning of a new day. These are not separate but rather they converge together to paint a picture of what the Lord is about to do.

I believe that this is a prophetic sign for America! Just as we were sent a prophetic gift of a rooster twelve years ago; God is sending the church a prophetic sign and gift of a rooster that announces a new day…a day where revival will come upon communities as we return to our grass roots of gathering together on homesteads (in barns). We will see unity come from sharing life together, sharing meals together and raising barns together. Family, community and gathering in love will cause the Spirit’s fire to fall and the wind to blow. Homesteads will host the presence of God and become portals of miracles, signs and wonders.

This is a time to restore those old barns, build new barns and gather in barns because it is a new day! The stalls will be full again, the vats will overflow, the grain will be plentiful and we will rejoice!

“Consider from this day onward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month. Since the day that the foundation of the Lord ‘s temple was laid, consider: Is the seed yet in the barn? Indeed, the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have yielded nothing. But from this day on I will bless you.”” Haggai‬ ‭2:18-19‬ ‭

Where the barns have been empty and desolate, they now will be full! Where there had been no seed, now there will be an abundance of grain! Where there has been to yield from the land and from the work of your hands, now there will be more than enough. “From this day on I will bless you!” (On a side note and sign; my husband and I were married on the 24th day of the ninth month… Gregorian calendar not Jewish calendar).

Though I believe that this is specifically a word for America, I also see it touching other nations. Canada, Australia, Argentina, Japan, Scotland, Mexico, Brazil…and many other nations will hear the crow of the rooster to announce a new day that brings them into harvest and blessings.

The rooster is crowing…”It’s a new day!”

Were You Born In A Barn? In The Days Ahead Many Will Answer, “Yes I Was!”

by Kathi Pelton

For the past few weeks I have become aware of something that is happening even now regarding “a barn revival”, some are calling the worship and prayer times in these barns, “a barn burn.”

In my hometown of Santa Rosa, California many in the church would meet in a beautiful local barn to worship and pray and listen to voices such as Heidi Baker and Georgian Banov. As a matter of fact, my daughter, Amy and her husband, Luke were married on this property and their wedding reception was held in that very barn. But in 2017 a firestorm hit the region and the entire property, including this barn was burned. It was a great loss.

Since that time, every time I talk about this event and say that the barn burned I then begin to hear the verse from Isaiah 61:3,

“…to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.”

I’ve sensed that there would be a beautiful restoration that would come from the ashes of even this one barn that became ashes. Beauty will rise from the ashes of devastation in many lives, cities and nations. A barn raising will happen and the fire of God will fall, bringing great restoration!

Then, I began to see visions of people telling other people, “I was born in a barn!” I realized that they were speaking of being “born again” in a barn. Just as our Savior was born in a barn and laid in a manger, many will come from afar, like the wisemen who followed the star, to find the Savior of the world in a barn once again. They will be born in a barn because they did not find “room in the Inn (church).”

I believe that there will be barns all across America that will release the sound of worship, the sound of prayer and the sound of the revelation of the good news. Light will come forth from these barns like a star in the sky that leads many to find Jesus there. Both the saved and unsaved will come. Those whose lives have been in ashes will come; the hopeless, the weary, the sick and the lost will come and as they hear the sound they will see their Savior. Beauty and salvation will come forth from the ashes and the fire of the Holy One will come like a second Pentecost upon all who gather.

The name of the Lord will be heard throughout the land and those who would never step into a church will come to these barns because of the light and the sound. They will find healing for their weary souls and they will leave these barns like young calves set free from the stalls.

“But for you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in his wings. And you will go free, leaping with joy like calves let out to pasture.” Malachi 4:2

Many will be born in these barns! We will even see the church gather to raise barns once again. Unity will come even from the times of preparing barns and community will be formed around these barns. John 17:21 is where we read Jesus’ prayer for us to be one in the same way that the Father, Son and Spirit are one and these barns will become a place of oneness! They will be like a womb where many are birthed and new life comes forth.

There will be barns on fire but they will burn with the fire of God that lights up the sky and calls many home. The harvest will be gathered in the barns and the angels will gather to sing, “Glory to God in the highest, and peace and goodwill toward mankind.”

Faith, Finances and Fruitfulness

by Kathi Pelton

Today I was reminded of the story in John 6 of the boy who offered his lunch (loaves and fish) to the Lord. It is such a beautiful example of what God can do with our offering.

“‘There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many? Jesus said, ‘Have the people sit down.’ Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted. And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, ‘Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost. ‘ So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten. When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, ‘This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!’” John‬ ‭6:9-14‬ ‭

The offerings that we bring often feel insignificant compared to the great need that is before us. But when all that we have (both small and large) is placed into the Lord’s hands, He blesses it and multiplied it to feed the multitudes. Not only that—there is always more than enough with leftovers that exceed the original offering. In this story the boy who offered his lunch not only still ate and was “filled” but I believe that this increase was counted to his credit! Not only were the people’s hunger satisfied but the miracle of multiplication revealed Jesus to the masses. They believed!

This seemingly small act of faith on the part of this boy brought increased fruitfulness not only for him but for the multitudes. It is still revealing Jesus today and increasing the faith of those who merely have “a lunch” to offer.

My husband and I have been in full-time ministry for many years. The majority of our time in ministry we have been supported by those who the Lord prompted to support us financially. On an emotional level this was a hard adjustment for us when we started on that path. We had been used to being the ones who supported others and suddenly needed to be supported. When God called us to live in another country to oversee a house of prayer, we had to “go” and trust that the Lord would bring generous givers to surround our lives as we gave our “yes” to His call. We quickly had to learn absolute trust and thanksgiving in times of plenty and times of hunger.

Throughout the years of living upon the support of others (amazing and beautiful people!), we had to come to terms with the truth that Paul speaks of in Philippians 4 regarding his own ministry and support, when he writes, “Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.”

Our hearts, like Paul’s, have always been to give our all and give our “yes” to all that the Lord asks of us (whether giving or going). Though there are times of great struggle and sacrifice, we know that He is worthy of it all. We have come to understand through these verses in Philippians 4 that the burden or weight that we often felt as people supported us was wrong thinking. Let’s look at what Paul says about those who supported him and the work he was doing,

“Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only. Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again. Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit. I have received full payment, and more. I am well supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Philippians‬ ‭4:14-20‬ ‭

God equally credits the fruitfulness of Paul’s ministry to those who stood in the place of support. Although Paul was the mouthpiece (and he was credited for that), those who offered financial support gave “an acceptable and pleasing offering to the Lord” and it was credited to them for all the fruit that came forth.

It is a partnership! One is not greater than the other because one cannot exist without the other. I live in the confident assurance that those who give are benefiting from the fruitfulness that comes from the work of those they give to. In light of this truth we all can focus on the work before us and pray for the increase of Kingdom fruitfulness; being confident that those hard working supporters are being blessed equally as much. The reward for the one who goes and the one who gives is the same!

I am sharing this because there is so much misunderstanding about this partnership and about the role of those who give and those who go. Often people hold back because they feel as though they give with no return. Or they give only a small measure because they feel as though all the fruit goes to those who are the mouthpiece or instrument of “going.” But according to Paul, he is able to “seek the fruit that was increased because of those who gave!” There must be those who plant the seed and those who water the seed. God sees both with equal importance, impact. and honor.

The one that “goes” and the one that “gives” are rewarded the same and credited for the increase of fruitfulness. Both take a posture of faith and live by faith even in two different roles.

I pray that this understanding takes the pressure off those who go and adds a blessing upon those that give. I have been in both roles; those who have given and those who have gone, and one was not above the other or more honorable than the other. No matter what role the Lord has called you to stand in; the increase of fruitfulness is credited to you. It is a pleasing sacrifice that will bring the increase of fruitfulness upon your life as well.
